For some reason, this aluminum model sumo does not have the weight listed. Is it that heavy? The Ti model is 10 oz, or 280g

Great pot with a sucky lid

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We up-sized to a sumo after finding that our prepacked meals were a tight or impossible fit in the original jetboil. The sumo is super efficient and holds plenty of food for two hungry hikers. We haven't experienced any noticeable performance differences between this and the original. Except for the lid. It just sucks. The lip on the lid is too shallow so it doesn't give it quite as much bite as the original. We find that it never stays closed and have had to start transporting it in a small stuff sack so that the kit stays together. Aside from this, we've been quite happy.

fast and the furious

used a full, small gas canister at 13,500' on Kings Peak and it ran non stop for 2.5 hours. Used this sick system for Miso, tea and for heat, heating water in bottles to throw in our sleeping bags. Self contained system is compact and easy to set up and get boiling! This should be a standard in anyone's pack that wants hot fluids fast!

Does anyone know if the small gas bottles that go under the Jetboil can be purchased in the UK?
I love my jetboil so much that I am giving them as gifts for Christmas but one person lives in Scotland.

Long Boil?

I love the size of the cup. However, it took 8 minutes to boil 1.25 L with a PCS stove. This was inside with no wind and 68 degree ambient temperature with 55 degree water. Not very impressed so far (But that may just be the PCS stove is not the best for this...)
