Designed with the female body in mind, the Jansport Penelope 34 Backpack offers the utmost in carrying comfort. The Penelope 34 takes women's technical daypacks to new heights with two cargo compartments, four additional pockets, and an organizer to keep your cell phone, iPod, and other valuables close-at-hand. Jansport added a padded hip-belt to the Penelope that transfers weight off the shoulders and tucks away neatly when not in use. The Penelope's shorter torso length, S-curved ergonomic shoulder straps, and adjustable sternum strap are designed for a feminine physique for a more comfortable, custom fit without painful pressure points. The Penelope has moisture wicking mesh on the padded back panel to keep you cool and dry, and a hydration sleeve to keep you haydrated.

This backpack is alright. It holds a lot of stuff and is great for camping and traveling but it fits weird. It's kind of short and puffs out a lot. I look kind of silly walking around with it sticking out so much--it doesn't distribute the weight very well. It is not well made for a woman's backpack--go with a The North Face if you want a great pack. You can't go wrong with them.

Excellent pack for campus.
I have a long history of mountaineering and only have top quality gear.
Me and my girlfriend changed careers and are in Nursing school.
I have the Jansport Odyssey 38 and love it. Bomb proof.
The Penelope is just a shorter version and just as bomb proof.
We carry a lot of heavy medical books and the packs hold up.
Mine is 2 years old, used and abused everyday and not a tear on it.
Several other students have bought the same packs.
I expect the same toughness from the Penelope since it is the same pack except for a shorter torso.
Also, it is the only pack that will hold the quantity of books that needs to be carried.
Can't go wrong with this one.
