The generously-sized JanSport Klamath 85 Backpack is an excellent choice for week-long backpacking trips. With seven compartments to help organize your gear, the Klamath 85 gives you the convenience of a bedroom dresser in the backcountry. This internal-frame backpack has an extendable lid and bivy with a zippered compartment for quick access to smaller essential items, and the side panel provides easy sleeping bag access. To ensure a precise fit, the harness plate adjusts for 17.5- to 19.5-inch torso lengths and the shoulder width adjusts up to two inches. Ergonomically designed S-curve shoulder straps keep you pain free on long hauls. The Klamath features a breathable mesh back panel to keep you dry and comfortable on longer hikes.

Bottom Line: With its light weight and user-friendly design, the JanSport Klamath 85 Backpack helps you defy gravity in comfort.

Will this pack fit a tall guy like me (6' 5") and if so, is it the best pack to take on a 10-day trek to Philmont (along with all the prep hikes)? Please offer your suggestions. Thanks

This bag would be way too large for a carry-on bag. For reference, I can get away with carrying a 3500 cu in bag onto the plane, but anything over that I usually have to check. 5200 however is a definite non-carry-on bag.

If you're hiking, then yes, this pack will do you fine in the boundary waters. I don't think this pack is waterproof, so you might want to use a pack cover while you're out. If you're paddling, you'll be much better off using dry bags.
