Sometimes, a night in the woods isn't enough. That's when the JanSport Katahdin 60L Backpack comes into play by comfortably stowing your gear while you trek for days through your favorite park, national forest, or wilderness areas. If you can't fit something on or in this 3662-cubic-inch pack, then you probably don't need it for your next two-night trek away from roads, work, and reality TV shows.

  • Padded EVA back panel and padded, adjustable shoulder straps and waist-belt cushion a full load for days
  • Adjustable harness system fits torso sizes between 16 and 19 inches
  • Top lid holds go-to items like a map or snack and protects the top-accessed pack from the elements
  • Bottom zippered sleeping bag compartment lets you get to your bag without emptying your pack
  • Hydration sleeve with exit port and tube loops keeping you drinking and moving all day
  • Dual side storage pockets, front zip pocket, front mesh pocket, waist-belt zip pocket and two side water bottle pockets hold accessories
  • Side, bottom, and top lid compression straps reduce dead space and solidify the pack for transport, but also attach additional gear
  • Two loops hold mountaineering tools or trekking poles

Bottom Line: Take the long-weekend trail and remember why you love this world.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Granted, they are more expensive, but with good reason. I've found that you generally get what you pay for in a pack.

Jansport makes great gear, but in my opinion the best way to make sure your backpack doesn't fall apart on you is to get a Gregory or Osprey pack - my personal favorites.
