Here's what others have to say...

can i use this backpack for a hike?

can i use this backpack for a hike?

Responded on

I have day hiked with some free spirits who have used had stitched silk slings as their packs, so I guess the answer for this pack is yes you could, but thats my teacher's response to "Can I go to the bathroom?"

Personally, I wouldn't take this pack hiking and this is why:

No vented back
No hydration compatibility
No external pockets to even hold a bottle of water.

What I would use this for is to carry my MacBook Pro and my Abnormal Psychology textbook in between classes.

Brian I would second Wayne, I would not use this as a day pack for a hike. I do a fair amount of hiking and backpacking and the features of this pack just don't really fit into what you would want for a day pack. May I recommend something with a waist belt strap. I would recommend a pack like the Osprey Talon 22, it is a really good day pack that I have used, it can double as a backpack for other occasions but I would just is it for backpacking or day hiking. The camelback Mule is also a good one but it is a little bit smaller and would not work for school as it would not fit books. Hope this helps you out!
