When you want to bring a few items along on your hike but don’t want to lug a backpack, pull out the JanSport Coltrane Lumbar Pack. This lumbar pack holds two water bottles (not included) and has enough space for an extra layer and snacks. Stash your MP3 in the audio pocket so you have some rowdy music for that difficult uphill push. A clip holds your car key so it doesn’t get lost in the bottom of this pack—adjust the waist-belt to fit comfortably, and hit the trail.
Bottom Line: Leave your bulky backpack at home.

No one has mentioned that the main pouch expands considerably when the bottom zipper is opened to allow it to billow out.
As for how small a waist it will fit, I have a 31" waist and find that my arms swing freely without hitting the water bottles. That is with a 500cc bottle on each side.
The straps allow you to snug it into your back and keep it from flopping backwards.
I like the ability to pull the water bottle pockets into the main pouch and zip closed the opening. Makes it nice and compact for storage or use when water bottles aren't needed.

Hi, the dimensions of this pack are stated as 5.5 x 8 x 10.5 inches. Do these measurements include the bottle holders with bottles inserted, or just the actual central compartments of the pack?

Perfect for what I was looking for. 3 zip pockets enables me to carry anything I need. First aid supplies in one. The larger of the 3 pockets I can carry a lunch or an extra jacket. Exactly what I wanted.

This pack is no more spacious than mine that measures 9 x 8 x 4, which is only 288 cubic inches. The key hook apparently is the hook stuck on the outside of the pack. Well-built in other respects.
