The Jansport Body Wrap 49 Backpack is a unique twist on the ultralight top-loader theme. To compensate for the lack of a solid frame, the Body Wrap uses a dual tube main compartment that creates a more symmetrical structure when the pack is full, so it's easier to distribute your load and the pack is more comfortable on your back. To save on weight, Jansport cut out unnecessary padding around the back of the hipbelt. Instead, stuff your sleeping bag into the bottom sleeping bag compartment and make it do double duty as bedding and hip padding. Reasoning that nobody likes dirt with their water, Jansport added a bite valve pocket on the straps to protect the business end of your hose when you put the pack down, and keep it from flailing around while you walk. The Body Wrap's slick Si-fused fabric is light and looks flimsy, but actually can take an appreciable beating. The Body Wrap 49 is an awesome choice for shorter (15-18in torso) weekend backpackers traveling fast with minimal gear.

Bottom Line: Minimalist shouldn't mean "Miserablist"
