The JanSport Big Bear 88 Backpack carries a ridiculous amount of gear in the 5400cu inches and keeps everything organized with a load of pockets. Fill this JanSport bag to the brim and hit the trail while the double aluminum stays and S-Curve shoulder straps provide the support you need to save your back. Four compression straps keep your gear from flopping around inside, and this bag even includes bungee cords to strap on more stuff if you run our of room.

That is like a week long to month pack. for 3-4 days look at something between 50-60L. If you loaded this pack up you might tip the lad over. Try asking the scout leader what size of pack most kids are using.

They sell this bag at the camping store I worked at. I heard some good feedback but 2 of the 3 of them were exclusive Jansport pack guys. Ive had decent success with Jansport packs in general
