    Don't shift like a jagweed.

Cables are probably the least-appreciated part of your setup, but they're more important than most of us realize. A smooth, strong, and reliable cable makes shifting extra crisp and braking that much more powerful, so adding something like the Jagwire Road Pro Complete Shift and Brake Cable Kit to your bike is an easy and cheap way to freshen up your ride. Jagwire cables are coated in Teflon and placed inside slick-lube liners, so you get smooth shifting and braking without any grabbing, soft spots, or delay. This kit comes with everything you need, including cable ends and barrel adjusters, and has enough color options to add some pop to any bike.

    Colorful durability

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super, ridiculously durable and fun color options. I just bought new Jagwire housing/cables to replace the 3-ish year-old ones on my current road bike. They weren't worn out, but I needed to run new brake housing to accommodate wider rims and I figured I might as well swap everything out.

In the past, I've had one Jagwire shift cable break, but it had also seen about six years worth of rear derailleur shifts. That's more of a check mark against me for letting it go that long and a pretty good indicator of how well these cables hold up against wear and tear.

    Top Notch Performance/Value/Style!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been using Jagwire Pro Cable/Housing kits on my road, mountain, and cross bikes for years and I have been incredibly impress with the performance, durability, style, and best of all value. If your bike is in need of a refresh try out the Jagwire Pro kit, your bike will thank you.

Great cables in a great color

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I recabled my wife's bike with these. The light blue color matched well with the light blue highlights on the frame of her bike. The cables and housings in this kit were a great upgrade over the cables that came with her bike when we first bought it a few years ago.

Great cables in a great color

    Con

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

the housings are just to inflexible. They have caused serious cable rub where other brand did not. they are so stiff they act as an
auto-pilot, keeping my bike straight. so inflexible they caused an adjustable cable guide to break.

    best upgrade

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Includes everything you need to replace your brake and shifter cables and housing. Jagwire cables shift smooth and stay that way. Their brake housing does not compress which makes your braking quick and easy. Have used for years and will continue to do so!

Inferior Cables - Not created equal!

Bought these again even though the first set I had ruined my Shimano Dura Ace shifter when the cable broke inside the shifter. Figured it was a fluke. Not a fluke, second set did the exact same thing. Both sets were less than a year old. I rarely ride in the rain or in bad conditions. I've attached a picture so you can see what it looks like after I was lucky enough to dig the cable end side out of the shifter.

The worst part was I contacted Jagwire USA several times, left a message with customer service and technical service. Never got an answer of any sort. So, not only do the cables suck, so does the service. Stay far away from these cables. Never again for me - Shimano only!

Inferior Cables - Not created equal!

Great cables and splash of color

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I replaced the stock cabling on my Pineralleo Marvel with these. Gotta say they are super smooth and great to install. The brake lines were just great for routing through my 3T bars with internal routing. All around a great complete package. Enough so that I bought another one for my wife's Cannondale CAD 10.

      Great Way to Refresh

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

New Cables are a great way to refresh a slow shifting bike. The Jagwire cable kit comes with all of the ferrules, cable ends, cables, and housing to refresh your road bike. I replace my cables at least once a year to keep everything moving smoothly.

Great cable set for aging road bike

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought this cable set to replace the brake and shifter cables on my aging road bike. Very straightforward installation instructions for a high quality product.

      Very smooth. Need more ferrules

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

What a difference! Replaced the Gore cables that came with my Cervlo S5. Went from shifting to SHIFTING. Glad I stopped procrastinating and finally replaced my cables.

My Cervlo S5 has internal routing of derailleur and rear brake cables, and the kit did not come with enough ferrules to do it all. I simply cleaned off the old ones and reused in the less visible or critical spots, so problem solved, but a minor problem, nonetheless.

Shifting and braking quality is 5 stars, kit content shortage drags it down to 4 stars.

      Good kit great look .

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased the black kit . Found cable and housing to be good quality . Housing was easy to cut and cables are nice and slick . The coolest thing is we put them on my sons bike ( Matte black ) . The housing and cables are both black making the cables blend in with the frame for a totally stealthy look .

      Good Road Cables

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Buying road cables is one of the few things that I hate to buy for my bike. That said, these work well, and are very smooth. Easy to cut to the needed lengths. If your housing is in good shape though, don't spend the extra money, just get the cables!

      Slick shifting

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Very easy to install and makes for a return to effortless shift performance. The setup is SRAM Rival brifters and derailleurs. Housing is very flexible and suggest making cuts with a housing specific cutting tool such as one from Park Tool. One interesting feature is the clear housing end that goes towards the shifter. It is marked on the housing but not referenced in the instructions. Appears to be slightly more flexible than the rest of the housing to make the bend against the bar/ under the tape (shown in photo). Had a few parts left over that must be used on different Shimano compatible groups - again not identified in the instructions. Instructions are a fair guide but if this is your first time replacing cables suggest you watch a couple YouTube videos (there are plenty). This replaced a GORE Ride-On set; the original version was great but the second gen did not live up to prior expectations. Read the reviews on Jagwire and Yokazuna Reaction - chose Jagwire mainly for the black color option. Have multiple color choices where YR only has two and was tired of white. The black looks good with the black Rival group. Took about 90-minutes to install. Great way to spend Christmas Eve. Limited use since just installed but expect great things.

      Unanswered Question

I'm restoring a 1968 Austrian made 10-speed racer. Finding compatible parts has been tricky, but all brakes and drive train are Suntour. Any worries before I commit?

On the Jagwire website it doesn't indicate it is compatible with Campy. I currently have a Centaur 10s ergo shifters on my bike and wanted to know if this would be compatible?

I'm running some Jagwire cables in Campagnolo-branded housing on a Chorus 11 group. The Jagwire cables (and housing) should also work just fine for the Centaur 10.

Great group, btw--I ran 2008 Centaur until this spring. I do miss the old lever shapes, but times are changin'.

Is there enough brake housing in this kit...

Is there enough brake housing in this kit to install a mechanical disc brake setup with full housing? Thanks!
