1st day kayaking success for anyone
While the Regal is larger and not quite as sexy as it's cousin the Riviera, it's also a more stable boat for larger people or carrying heavier loads. I take my 2 dogs out on the Regal no problem - one in the cockpit with me and the other on the gear deck on the rear - still paddles fine.
This is a boat I can stand up in to fish or relieve my self but not so slow that I won't take it for a sunset paddle. Great mix of light weight, stability, and ease of use. This is not a high performance speed machine OR a whitewater model.. instead it's just a great first kayak for calmer waters.
Best sit in side for the price...
THe Regal isn't a high performance, or well accessorized boat. It is a bare bones, no maintenance, fun boat that you don't have to stress about people borrowing it, leaving it outside, etc.. It is big enough to bring a small child with you, or a dog, great for fishing out of, and fast enough to cruise a couple of miles easily. I use it for fishing easy whit eater sometimes as well.
THe molded in handles and skid plate make dragging it around easy.
