Its 3-in-1 design takes on all conditions without batting an eyelash, and lets you break down the jacket into its constituent parts, so you're also covered if you just want a shell or some light insulation.

The outer jacket is made from tough polyester, with reinforcement from Texapore 2L panels on the shoulders and sleeves for increased waterproofing and durability in high-wear areas. To keep you dry, the fabric is laminated to a Texapore O2+ membrane, which is highly waterproof and breathable to make sure you stay dry inside and out, and the Altiplano features the cooling power of Wolfskin's Vent Support System, which uses two underarm zips to pull air through the jacket if you start to get extra toasty. The jacket also has articulated elbows for smooth movement, multiple pockets for convenient storage, and a bomber hood to keep the storm at bay.

Inside, things are all about providing lightweight insulation. The liner jacket is built from Airgrid, a light and packable polyester, with stretchy Nanuk Dynamic fleece panels at the sleeves and underarms for increased mobility and moisture transfer. Microgard Maxloft, a fluffy and light synthetic fill, provides insulation that resists moisture and packs down small, and two additional hand pockets give you storage space if you leave the shell at home.
