Great as a Commuter Coat

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I use this coat to commute and walk my dogs in Massachusetts during the fall and spring. It's great for what it is; this is not a heavy winter coat. It is water repellent without being noisy at all (like rain coats), but doesn't have a hood to get in the way of carrying a cross-body laptop bag. The shell material is very smooth and looks professional. I love the two-way zipper because I can keep it on while sitting and just unzip from the bottom up a bit. However, as with pretty much all two-way zippers, you do have to align the two pieces properly to get it started, but this hasn't bothered me. The pockets are placed well and zip nicely.
The whole coat has a synthetic fleece lining and I've worn it down to about 30 degrees, although not for long periods outside. I gave it 4 stars because there is no way to tighten the cuffs and the sleeves aren't lined with something slippery, so you do have to hold your sleeves when putting it on to keep them from bunching. The sleeves are a good size though so I can deal with it unless I'm wearing a shirt with 3/4 length sleeves.
This coat has a lovely silhouette! I'm 5'6", 135 lbs, 35 - 28 - 38 and the small fits perfectly with plenty of room for a sweater underneath. I have full range of arm movement and I have relatively broad shoulders. I originally tried the medium but I swam in it.

Stylish and Comfortable

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I ordered the black Mila coat because I love my Isis Carlotta Dress, which is actually more like a long shell vest.. I ordered an "L" in the Mila coat and it is a perfect fit. I am 5'4", 12/ 38D and the chest is not restrictive. The lining IS like a shell velour that requires holding one's wrists for a fleece and shirt so it doesn't bunch. Not a problem for me.The two-way zipper is great. The collar has a sort of double lining with stretchy jersey on the neck and the shell material on the outside. It is very modern and stylish! Sleeve length is fine for me (I have normal length arms) and are not tight so they can be can be rolled up depending on activity. The only thing that feels less than awesome is the security of the snap at the breast. I wish it were re-inforced with another layer of the shell on the interior of the jacket. It is not flimsy just not as tough as the rest of the coat. Note the Carlotta dress runs a bit smaller (but only a little) than the Mila coat. I wear a large in both and the dress is a bit more fitted.

Not for cold Winter weather

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I was not able to find any reviews on this coat on any sites including Isis.com and decided to break my protocol by ordering anyway. It runs small, so size up. The arms have felt lining, so it's difficult to layer with fleece. When I closed the zipper, the pull came off. It is very pricey for what you get. The style is unique with a shaping effect and that is it's only redeeming quality.
