Not waterproof.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I really wanted to love these pants--the suspenders and full-side zips are super convenient--but they soaked through during an afternoon of resort skiing in around-freezing temps with heavy snowfall. I wouldn't trust them in any kind of backcountry situation where you can't go inside and warm up/dry off. They'd probably stand up to a little less precipitation just fine, but I need true hardshell pants, so I 'm sending them back. Sizing note: I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, and I had tons of room in the 6, which is my usual pant size. They're uninsulated, so this was fine for me because I wanted the ability to layer underneath them (heavily--I live in Alaska), but if you're looking for a fitted pant maybe order a size down.
