There's no limit to the number of ways you can set up the Siltarp3.

Integral Designs Siltarp3 is designed for adventure racers who need an extremely lightweight, versatile tarp to protect them from the elements. The Siltarp3 protects 4-5 people in a semi-enclosed A-frame, or it can become a wind/rain shelter for a larger group. The Siltarp3 is a 10x12ft rectangular tarp made from ultralight waterproof nylon. At 20 ounces, it's light enough to take on any trip. The Siltarp3's center seam provides extra strength but does require manual sealing (Silnet seam sealant included). One lightweight nylon tie loop sewn to the reinforced center patch and 20 lightweight nylon webbing loops sewn to the corners and along the sides facilitate a variety of setups on trekking poles, paddles, avalanche probes, or trees.

Here's what others have to say...

What is the pack weight on this tarp?

What is the pack weight on this tarp?

Responded on

20 oz for just the tarp. Pack weight will vary depending on how you're planning on setting it up (stakes, parachute cord, etc)

Works as it should, make sure you tie it down well, so light wind will fly it if not done. When you seal the seam on arrival have plenty of room to lay it out and let dry completely before stuffing it back in bag. Little high dollar, but what isn't these days and at least this works for the bucks!

I just got back from 10 days in the High Sierra's using the Siltarp3 every night and I am sooo happy with it. Lightweight, waterproof and roomy enough to keep my claustrophobic partner happy. During bad weather I put my tail to the wind, sanded in the three staked out sides and hung and tied a piece of mosquito netting over the opening. Worked like a charm. This is one great piece of gear that stays in my core pack.

Slick little bugger

The Siltarp 3 is a great tarp with some nice features. The loops every two feet make for a very easy setup. The quality of construction is first rate. The color we chose was gray, although I must say it's a greenish version of gray.

The only problem with this tarp is the packing. Since silicone impregnated nylon is, well, made with silicone and nylon, it's extremely slippery and folding it and stuffing into the sack is an exercise in frustration. The process goes much quicker with two people, rather than one. If one person is stuffing however, just take a seat and watch the show!

I guess there is no free lunch. It is overpriced in my opinion, but a great tarp with great features.

Light and Durable

Integral Designs is king of lightweight gear, and this is no exception. Incredibly light and durable. You can puncture it with a pen, then rub away the hole! (Don't do this to excess.)
