The Integral Designs Siltarp is an extremely versatile tarp made from ultra light waterproof nylon. Silicon impregnation seals out water and keeps the Siltarp's ripstop fabric at an ethereal 1.35oz per square yard, yet it remains incredibly strong and resilient. Functioning as bare-bones overhead shelter for use with a bivy sack, or as a cooking and gear storage awning, the Siltarp can be set up on hiking poles, slung between trees or attached to a tent or hooped bivy. 16 webbing tie loops sewn on the corners and edges, and one reinforced loop in the center facilitate a number of different set ups. Because it has no seams, it requires no seam sealing and is ready to go out of the box.

Bottom Line: The Integral Designs Siltarp defines the modern, lightweight lean-to.

Great supplement to a tent when it rains or snows

By:
June 8, 2011

I've used this tarp three times now and it has been extremely useful, especially considering how light it is, how small it packs down to and it's versatility. I've been using it as a supplement to a tent.
I especially appreciate it's neutral color and it's many tie loops. Set-up is a breeze, it's easy to adjust and packs quickly. I've used it in falling snow and rain and it's now on my packing list when I expect falling snow or rain.
Here is a link to my YouTube video review. Yeah, I know it's lame, but it's my first review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFKY5F97v0c

Hey guys im looking for a tarp to increase the versatility of my shelter fleet, i need something thats, cheap, lightweight and packs small. Id like to use it as a porch for my existing tent, a cooking shelter and for if im using a bivy. Can you use this without trekking poles? How easily does it string up?

This tarp, like most, will do just about anything with some combination of rope, trees, poles or roll yourself up like a bivy sack. Great to have.

My Siltarp 1 is the coolest

By:
August 27, 2009

I love my new 5'x8' Siltarp. It's great for 2 for cooking or staying dry, and as a porch for my Sprite II. It only weighs 7oz! I put 50' of tent cord in with it, so I can put it up just about anywhere in a few minutes. I love my old 2.5 lb Stingray. But, this is the coolest, and almost 2 lb lighter.

The picture is from a 4-day mtn bike trip above Lake Chelan, WA in August 2009.

It does not come with stakes so the weight is for the tarp alone.
