Cross over between the trail and the road with the Inov-8 Men's Terrafly 303 Trail Running Shoe. A combination of a minimal cushioning, a lightweight and breathable upper, and a sticky outsole give you the versatility to move with speed and confidence. Since its first shoe, Inov-8 has been in the business of pushing forward the idea of natural running, and to that end, the Terrafly features a moderate drop for a natural foot position and a DFB shank that replicates your foot's ability to spring quickly off the toes. This combination of technologies offers smooth transitions during footstrike and quick acceleration off the toes. For the intermediate runner, the 303 is a great racing shoe, and for the experienced runner, the 303 serves as a versatile trainer on dirt or pavement.

  • Natural fit allows for more room in the toebox so your toes can spread out
  • Mesh lining feels smooth and comfortable against your foot
  • DFB shank (Dynamic Fascia Band) delivers a kick of energy with each step so you spring off your toes
  • Moderate 6mm drop (heel-forefoot offset) allows you to smoothly transition between heel, midfoot, and forefoot striking styles
  • This moderate drop puts your foot in a more natural, aligned position than traditional running shoes (with a high heel)
  • Terrafly sole and Endurance rubber compound create Inov-8's stickiest rubber outsole, which provides traction on the trail and the road without sacrificing durability

Terrafly 303 Trail Shoe

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I've owned these shoes for about 2 months, and ran about 250 miles in them. I ordered these shoes because they were toted as Inov8's ultra running shoe, and used them in two 50K trail races in New Mexico. The terrain was mostly technicial single-track, with a lot of rocks and rough desert plants lining the trail. Throughout both runs the sole offered plenty of protection, but the during the second 50K the upper tore in the same spot on both shoes, where the mesh fabric and the toe cap meet. Because the upper didn't hold up to the rigors of ultra running, I'm going back to Inov8's Trailroc 255. Those shoes are amazing and are durable as heck. Those are the ones I'd go with if you're looking to run longer distances.

Solid Trail Runner

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

These are good trail runners for sure. I like the fact that they are light, have decent grip, and have a very low drop. They are a bit narrow for my tastes and tend to bother my toes on a long run, but if you have a narrow foot, these will probably be for you.
