The injinji Performance Mini-Crew Sock uses a combination of quick-wicking Coolmax and stretchy Lycra to out-perform any cotton sock out there, and they have separate toes to reduce friction. This unique design drastically decreases the chances of blisters forming on your toes. An ankle-height cut makes these injinji socks a great pick for anything from summer trail running to backpacking to hanging in town.
Bottom Line: Leave the cotton in the sock drawer, and hit the trails with the injinji Performance Mini-Crew Sock.
Injinji socks are the best running socks I have ever owned. I suffer from blisters on my toes no longer! Along with superior toe alignment and posturing, I feel like Cabello Blanco on the Colorado Trails.
Besides making my husband laugh when I say the name, Injinji is genius. Their toe socks are fabulous. I have small feet, size 6, and find my toes are so small they get squished together too easily. These socks not only prevent pesky blister in even the best shoes whether jogging or power walking. Pay attention to the type though, performance socks should be worn for performance...if you're looking for socks to knock around the house get the comfort or outdoor crew types also by Injinji. The performance socks are thinner and will wear out eventually so don't waste them dancing around the kitchen.

I have been very impressed with these socks. I recently wore them on my first 50k, Spokane River Run, and they worked brilliantly. The socks seemed to breathe very well. Some people have been worried that the extra material around the toes will cause a tight fit inside your shoes around the toe area. I prefer my shoes on the tighter side, especially around the toes and I have had no problems what so ever with the extra material causing extra tightness in my shoes. This sock would get 5 stars if only the upper material around the ankle was tighter. It feels like the sock is going to sag down over time. I have really skinny ankles so this may only be a problem for me, but I thought id let other skinny ankled people know. Also, if anyone is concerned about the fit of the sock in terms of having longer middles toes, like me, dont worry, the material stretches out nicely, although it does take some getting used to having material between your toes.
These socks are amazing. I use the wool version for hiking and the synthetics for around town and athletic endeavors.
Like other reviewers, I have between-the-toe blister issues. These socks have solved all those problems. I can also wear them with my FiveFingers to keep the toes warm in cooler weather.
And, for once, a sockmaker has decided to break sizes in a place that puts me right in the middle of a size rather than on the border. It makes for socks that actually fit.
I sometimes wear the Injinji socks in cold weather. I wouldnt recommend wearing them on a regular basis though. Definately try on a pair of the socks with your Five Fingers first to make sure they will comfortably fit.
These socks are great for long runs. I wear them for all my runs over 10 miles. They spread my toes a little giving the nerves more space so they don't get irritated. They are also great for blister prevention. They do run a little large however so if you are on the fence about size, get the smaller ones.
These socks are great with Five Fingers in colder weather. But, they do cause a pretty tight fit in the shoe, since Five Fingers are meant to fit like a glove without socks. Make sure you try the Injinji sock on with your Five Fingers before purchasing them.
Can I just say that these socks are KILLER! Extremely comfortable with a side of awesomeness. I wear these with my Merrell Barefoot shoes and the combination makes for good hiking, fishing, hunting, working, and surfing...well, maybe not surfing, but you get the idea. Wish I had a dresser full of this socks. You better believe I'll be buying more stuff by Injinji.
They work well, as long as your Five Fingers are not extremely snug w/o the socks. I would try a pair of the socks on with your Five Fingers to make sure they fit before you buy them. Unless it is very cold, there's really no need for socks.
They are fantastic with Vibram Five Fingers. The thing you want to make sure of is that you don't have extra material at the ends of your toes. As long as they're snug you'll love 'em!
If any sock would, it would be this one. However, the Vibram Fivefingers are meant to mimmick being barefoot, less is more, socks and orthotics need not apply.
Originally got them for backpacking, because of problems with blisters between toes, but I won't do a long run in any other socks. Great for preventing blisters and sweaty-itchy feet as well.

I bought these for my girlfriend thinking the concept was unique. The material is soft, but are a little thick for her taste, and the last 2 toes on the sock are a little longer than her toes, so is feels "a little weird" running in them. She uses them as her back up pair when it's laundry day.
I purchased these to use with my vibram five fingers. They do a great job preventing blisters on longer treks. I started using them less and less with the five fingers because my feet adapted to vibrams and blistered less. But now the injinjis are becoming useful again with one of my pairs of vibrams... I have machine washed a pair so many times that the inside bottom of them is becoming wrinkly and uncomfortable without socks. But when I wear the injijis, it makes them feel comfortable again.
I'd give them 4 stars if the darn ankle part wasn't too big for my skinny ankles. I thought they'd be a little more fitted, instead I'm left with a .25 inch gap around my ankle -- which is not good for running b/c stuff ends up in your sock. So, they're okay for kicking around in and wearing flip flops when it's a bit cooler than the toes like. I was concerned the last couple toes were going to be all bunched up with extra sock when I first put them on - but I pulled the toes snugly down and they fit perfectly; no excess. Now if they can just work on making the ankle elastic a little tighter....
I picked these up for trail running and love how they feel. I usually have to change socks in the middle of a long run and sometimes even put on mole skin to prevent blisters, but i have completed a 50K with these, mud and water crossings, and never changed socks once. Great feeling not having to worry about blisters and hot spots.
Does anyone know how well would these work under (women's) soccer shoes? I usually wear 2 pairs of socks since my feet get so sweaty. I am asking mainly because the toe box design of soccer shoes is very fitted .
I use these in my form fitting soccer shoes and they work great, no blisters, no numbness. If you are already wearing two pairs of socks this may change the fit though, these are very thin. I am a huge fan and recommend giving them a try!
These are odd at first, but one you get used to them they're decent. If you plan on wearing tight fitting shoes, just stick to normal socks because they won't feel any different.
I just bought my second pair of these socks. I wanted to get some Vibram Five Finger Shoes so I've been wearing these socks to help get my toes used to being away from each other. You generally don't where socks with the Vibram shoes but you can if you get a little bit bigger shoes. There are no seams so there is nothing to irritate your toes. They do take some getting used to if your not used to having something between your toes, but they are definitely worth getting! I'm planning on getting a few more pairs soon!
I really like the concept of these socks. They are very comfortable and do prevent the in-between toe blisters that happen with long distance running. That said, mine developed a hole in the toe in less then a month of use, and some of the areas and seams are showing wear. I'd have a hard time paying this much for socks that don't last a month.
I had heard so many rave reviews I decided to give them a try for trail running. They just didn't work for me. If you have a fairly tight fitting shoe in the toe box, keep in mind the extra material around the toes will make it even tighter. just for reference, socks that I like include Smartwools and Darn Tough.
Works splendidly running in these with Vibram Fivefingers. When I do run in my Vibrams, I prefer to run without a sock but during the winter for some extra warmth and protection, the Injinjis work great
For all those wondering if they work with the Vibram FiveFingers - YES. Vibram suggests them right on their website: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/accessories_injinji_socks.htm
These socks are awesome! I have some sweaty feet and these manage the problem quite well. Normally within 30 minutes of starting a hike my feet start to get damp and uncomfortable. These socks kept my feet comfortable all day! The only down side is that they do seem to attract the sock stealing goblin pretty bad.
I was worried about being bothered by the material between my toes. The first two times I wore the socks around town I could feel it, but it never bothered me much. After wearing them a few times it's definitely no big deal. It says on the package to be patient with your first wear - so this must be the story for most people.
This is my 6th (or 7th, who knows) pair of Injinji's, as they are as of yet the only folks kind enough to cater to us FiveFingers people. The first few pairs I bought were of quite thin material, wearing through in the big toe/heel area within two years with perhaps once weekly wear.
The 100% cotton variety Injinjis in my collection have stood the test of time beautifully, and these newer versions of the synthetic blends appear to be much higher quality, no signs of wear on either of the new pairs after two months. Kudos to R & D, thank you from a daily FiveFinger wearer for improving an already outstanding product!
I plan to do a hike through the Paria Canyon in a month and there are often times when your feet/body are submerged in water and mud. Would these dry quickly to avoid any kind of foot rot?
I constantly bring these socks on backpacking trips. They do dry faster than most socks, and while I love these socks to death, for the terrain you are covering I'd be more inclined to bring Smartwool socks only because I think those are the fastest drying sock I've ever owned.
Don't get me wrong though, I have run many races and hiked many hikes in wet environments in these socks and have never been less than satisfied.
I wear these with my FiveFinger shoes for a little added comfort on long runs on pavement. They work great. They also keep my feet warm when it's pretty cold out. I'm planning on picking up a couple more pairs for future runs!
Yes, these socks look funny. They feel a little odd the first time you put them on. But give them a chance, and you'll be a convert to these funny-looking toe socks. I'm training for a 100-mile race and wear these on all my long runs (20-60 miles) and have yet to get any blisters when wearing them. They prevent your toes from rubbing together, and the fabric itself doesn't chafe at all.
Give these socks a try, and say goodbye to blisters!
These are the about the only readily available option for me when I need some warmth in my Vibram Five Fingers. They get the job done, but I have been through several pairs. Each pair that I have used have developed holes after moderate use. Compare that to a pair of Smartwool running socks that I have had for 10 years that finally developed their first hole.
I've been wearing these socks for five years now. I originally purchased them for trail running, then wore them for all my running, and then started wearing them all the time. I hate old fashioned "mittens" on my feet now. When people make a funny face at them, I ask them if they wear mittens or gloves to work in the garden. When they look at me funny and say "gloves," I tell them that their feet are working every day and their "foot mittens" make it more difficult to get the work done.
By far they have been the best socks I have ever had. All my socks would be Injinji if they were cheaper! That being said they are light and supportive, more for casual wear or light intensity workouts. They are not compression socks nor do they have lots of padding. They fit real well and they barely cover your ankle.
I love my injinji performance toe socks. I was having trouble with blisters until I ran with these socks. No blisters and I have done a couple 32km runs. I will be getting more.
It took me a little while to get used to these socks which are like foot gloves but they have reduced blistering and toe soreness after walking and/or running. So, after the initial grace period I really like these socks. If you have sore toes after running I recommend giving these socks a try.... I also like using them for Yoga as well.
I love these socks. They are just the right height in the back so they don't rub that back of my foot. They feel a bit weird when you first put them on but you quickly forget about that. I have had issues with blisters on my toes before but not with these socks. I do mainly trail running and they are great.
Love these socks. Really help if you have problems with blisters on your toes when they rub together. I prefer the this height of socks versus the micro cut. The higher cut, mini-crew, sits above the back of ankle and doesn't rub on my that back of my ankle. I have worn these socks on a number of 7-10 miles trail runs and they have felt great. Highly recommend.
I increased my mileage to 30 miles/week recently and started having major blister problems on certain toes. I was in Canada over Thanksgiving and happened to pass by a sporting goods store, so, just out of curiosity (I love to look at running shoes and gear), I went in and saw these socks. I bought a pair at almost US$20! I was staying a hotel for a few more days and I was up for trying anything to reduce the pain and irritation of the blisters. When I got home I searched around on the internet and found that Backcountry had the best deal on these socks, so I bought four more pair. I love that the socks come in other colors than white -sand and gray, etc. The gray ones complement my New Balance 992's.
After purchasing a pair of Vibram Five Finger shoes I really felt like I needed sock for those colder temps. The Injinji toe sock are a great feel and dont make my feet over heat. The one draw back is the size of the toe slots, the first three toes fit great but my last two toes have a lot of extra material which leads to bunching and rubbing. This leads to the socks casusing some discomfort if they are not put on correctly the first time around.
I'm running >4x6 miles/wk and have these socks in rotation with Wright socks (very thin) and Nikes (very wicking). These are my favorite. Cons first: The fabric does not wick well, dries as quickly as a cotton sock, and is fairly thick for running. However, design seems much more important. These prevent blisters between my toes and aside from one small issue, have not allowed for any other problems. The only blister I have ever gotten was during a humid 13-mi, and on the outside edge of a toe, where the fabric rubbed against the inside of the shoe. Get sneakers with a wider toe box if you're going to run in these. Additionally, two of my toes tend to get squashed by other toes when I run and these keep them separate so that they don't get squashed. Now if they made these using Nike-type fabric, that would be amazing. I wear a size 9W and these in S is perfect.
Love these socks! Got me lots of them when it was on sale! No sweat between the toes and less hot spots! Now my son wants me to get these for him! I'll get them when it's on sale again its not that cheap.
Have used these for multiple medium length runs-~10miles-and they never cause any hot spots or cause chafing. Highly recommended for running, walking, doing whatever because they are just so comfortable.
I absolutely LOVE these socks!! I hiked the grand canyon in them, as well as Nevada Falls, and I have also run in them. They completely prevent blisters, and they are sooo comfortable. I would (and do) recommend them to everyone!!
I bought these socks from an ad I saw in Ultra-Running Magazine, hoping that they would be good a keeping away blister. I ran with them on and they worked well, a little bit to get used to. Although I was disappointed to see that they wore out very fast, maybe just too many seems.
i first discovered the injinji sock during the long beach marathon about 6 months ago....i would never use another sock again. often running 60-70 miles a week, i have yet to have any blisters. this is a great product and from one runner to another, i would have nothing else protecting my feet during a race.
This socks felt great on the actual foot but did not fit my toes. But my does are rather oddly spaced, so if you have what might be considered weird toes, these socks might not fit.

yeah, these toe socks are great. i bought some last year and really love them. It really makes sense when you think of a glove and mitten for your hands. These socks are taking over the world.
I LOVE THESE SOCKS!!! I do most of my running early in the morning on high grassy fields. There's usually a lot of dew on the grass. So my feet end up soaked all the time... which causes a lot of blisters on my toes. Sometimes I have blisters on top of blisters. My toes were a mess. Then I discovered Injinji socks. Now when I run... even on raining days I don't get a single blister. I even used them last weekend while pacing my friend during the Western States 100 miler and had no issue with the 100 degree temperature sweating or crossing the streams and getting the feet wet that way. Anyway I now have nine pairs of Injinji socks and won't wear any other kind. Well actually I can't... I've gotten rid of all the other pairs of socks I had.
constantly have blister problems after tough runs especially when lots of cutting is involved. These are perfect for that. My only complaint is that I'd like a wool blend and my next few pairs will definitely be that. I just think the sock itself will hold up better to lots of moisture.
I'm a runner, bicyclist, hiker, you name it. I run about 30 miles per week on varying terrain and bicycle everywhere. Having said that, I also have knee problems and so I started doing the "barefoot" thing last year with great results (see Newton Running and Vibram Five Fingers). These socks are perfect for Vibram 5's. Seriously, don't even use the V5F's without these socks: they help cushion on rocky trails and overall, just give the V5F's a snugger, more stable fit. Now, I also use them in my Newtons because they wick moisture very well AND they keep me from developing hot spots between my toes, where it gets moist and rubs together when I run. I'd give them 5 stars except I think they are a little bit "spendy" for what you get. Otherwise, they are a great product- well made and unique. If you have toes that fit tightly together, you will probably have trouble getting them on at first. This is my case. Just keep wearing them- after a few times your feet sort of relax around the material and it feels much better. Everyone's said it better than I can: great product, not for everyone, but worth trying if you are interested and can afford it. :-)
I have a genitic problem that all of my toes are not as long as my big toe and so the little piggies on the end have alot of left over sock. It is not that big of a problem but I would like to have had them fit better. Maybe I can fix the toes on the sox because I cannot fix the length of my toes.
If you get blisters between your toes when you run then you need these. I used to have to wrap my toes in band-aids before going out on the trail, but not since I got these injinji socks.
I first got a pair to go with my Vibram 5 Fingers shoes for running in colder weather, but I've found their great for wearing with regular running shoes or trail running shoes as well as great for long trips outings in the road bike or on hot days on single track.
I bought these to use with my new Vibram Five Fingers shoes and they are ideal, but I have started wearing them with normal shoes too and they are excellent. It takes a while to get used to putting them on and having material between your toes but it isn't too strange. For me the biggest benefit is my feet feel much cooler and more comfortable.
My only complaint is at $36 a pair (after shipping and import duty to the UK) they are a little on the expensive side.
These are wonderful socks. My toenails rub against each other in regular toes when I run causing bleeding but not with these socks. They are light yet supportive. Well worth the investment.
I bought two pair of these for my sister-in-law to wear while running. She has some foot ailments, and she has found that the individual toe movement and reduced friction between her toes alleviates much of the discomfort that she has had with her feet. She raves of them, but she did mention that it took some getting used to to have the material between her toes. I'll give it a 5 based on her feedback to me.
I've been running trail ultras for 26 years and these are the best socks I have found. I have never gotten a blister while wearing them, even having wet feet for hours.
If you enjoy running in the Vibram five finger shoes and love the feeling of being bare footed while protecting the phalanges. Then the Injinji gear will be a perfect fit.
Have seen the adds for years, but finally indulged after a brutal hot-weather marathon in May with resulting sausage toes. A little tough to get on, but once in place these babies cradle your toes, wick moisture, and keep the dogs cool in the heat. Injinji toe socks are not just a novelty item -- these hi-tech socks rock!
I love these socks and will definitely be hooked on them for life. I have run probably 20+ marathons in them and do not get blisters anymore! However, they do wear out relatively quick. They are an expensive sock (especially for wearing out relatively quickly), but wouldn't run another ultra without them!
I recently picked up a pair of Vibram's FiveFingers, and unless you're fine with throwing them in the wash every singe day, you really need some of these socks. I also plan to wear them as liner socks under my Smartwools during the winter. Like the fivefingers, Great idea, great product!
I picked up these socks nearly 2 years ago when they first came out. They do take some getting used to and are slow to put on and take off (not ideal for quick transitions like a triathlon) but the performance of these socks are tops! Because each toe is flying solo I found that in the heat my feet were cooler as air flowed between the toes. The other bonus is that when I felt like a blister could come on wearing other socks I'd put these on and run/hike without worry. I'm definitely buying another pair and can't wait until they make this sock from merino or a more technical weave.
I had problems in the heat with blisters between my toes and in a couple of other spots on my feet. Took a chance and got a few pair of these and now this is all I'll run with! They keep your feet cool, wear well and don't carry foot funk! I'm hooked. I've got dozens of pairs now and won't ever switch!!!
