First, the rim. I9 teamed up with the team at Reynolds to build a wheel that’s different all the way through the build, from spokes to nipples to sidewalls to bead. Each bit of the wheel has a special carbon layup for the perfect strength to weight ratio and killer ride quality, and the wheels are tubeless ready, as you’d expect. Industry Nine opted to make the spokes from aluminum instead of steel to save weight, but in a unique design twist, made the thread of the spoke thicker than the body, which adds strength where you really need it. If that’s not enough, the spokes thread directly into the hub for increased stiffness and easy truing.

Holding everything together is the new Torch hub, which sports 120 points of powerful contact and three-degree engagement that makes acceleration just about instantaneous. It’s also been optimized for seriously reduced drag, so every pedal stroke gets damn close to 100% efficiency.
