Great tank. One of my favorites. The fit is very flattering. Not too low cut. I love icebreaker and I love wool.

Great tank. Perfect with any bottoms- can be casual but in the gray color that I have it in, also feels a bit more ready for dinner out. Great weight, and fits well in all the right places. It's comfy but not baggy. Definitely recommend!

I have worn this shirt playing vball in 90 degree heat and just taking a hike in the woods and it holds up in both situations. Its very stylish and i definitely would wear it as a regular going out shirt on a really hot day. Definitely a nice color green and I would recommend all icebreakers to any of my friends. Best fabric ever and really doesn't ever smell. Vball in 90 degree weather was a true testament to how well it held up and it really kept me as cool as was possible.

i love this tank! great during hot weather in the summer. there is a little bunching @ the neckline, which makes it v feminine. the fit is slim, but not super tight, which was nice.
favorite tank!

It fits great, looks awesome, and feels amazing! I'm ordering more in each color. I'm 5'6", 130lb and got a M (I was 140 when I bought it first). I'm planning to try S size as well, just to get one that's a bit more tight around the waist, but M is already a perfect fit if you don't like too tight-fitting clothes. It's my go-to shirt for any summer outdoor activity.
My favorite top!

This is my favorite summer top. I bought two of them in the same color (black) because I wear it so much. Took them on a 2 week trip and wore them almost every day - great with casual shorts or pants. The cut is just trim enough - not clingy and not baggy - to be slimming and comfortable. It is just thick enough to not be "see through" and not be fragile - I have Patagonia wool tops that get little holes in them very easily - this top has not gotten any holes in it. The gathers at the neckline give it some style so that one looks "put together" but not too dressy for super casual events. Plus, the wool is great for odor reduction - ie one can wear more than one day with no odor!
pretty and comfortable

Sizing: I am about 5'5'' and 140 lbs and got the medium which fits well. The style/cut is relaxed and loose.
I find it a tiny bit too low-cut for my personal preference. When you bend over your bra will show, which isn't a big deal in some situations but if you want to wear this backpacking while traveling in for example a country where women dress more conservatively you might find it too revealing.
I recently got the Retreat Tank in Sterling, which is a very light, shimmery grey colour. I personally would've preferred a darker grey but the existing colour is ok too.
The material is soft, silky and ultralight.
I like how the back of the top comes up to the base of the neck for sun protection.
The straps are wide enough that you can wear a regular bra under it.
The gathering at the neckline is a nice detail.
The edging detail around the neckline and arm holes is unstitched, not sure if this will be a problem with loose fibres coming off or not, as I've only had the top for a few days. Will have to see if this becomes an issue but so far I like this versatile top.
I've been wearing it in very hot sticky weather and it feels good.
Could be dressed up or down. A good light travel piece.
Didn't fit right on me

Anchor is a pretty periwinkle color and the fabric felt nice but the cut was a bit odd. I ordered small (5'5", 115 lbs) but it was too loose in the armpit area. I think you can see in the picture that the sides kind of flare out under the armpit -- well that's just what it did on me. Not good. I think if you have boobs (i'm a 34A) it would fit because it would pull the fabric taut but it was pretty weird looking and even felt odd - like it was poking the inside of my biceps. Anyway, it went back but it seemed like it would be great for someone with a bigger chest.

Superfine wool + scoop neckline + raw edge detail + enough coverage to wear a normal bra = WIN!
Get this tank top. It is a quality piece of clothing that will make getting dressed this summer a breeze. I find that Icebreaker fits true to size. I am generally a medium and this top in a medium fits me perfectly.
Too tight in the armpit

Ordered an xs in anchor (great blue) but was to tight in the armpits for me. I wanted to keep it, it was a great shirt otherwise.

I own several icebreaker t-shirts and long sleeved baselayers...this was my first tank, and I love it. The anchor blue color is a soft, muted periwinkle (I think less bright than the photo). The lightweight wool is soft and not hot in summer, and drapes well. The fabric and cut of the tank (a little more modest than the siren tank by IB), with the raw edge deatil, make this pretty enough to wear to work or casually. But the performance fabric and toughness of merino means it will do well backpacking, too. I think the wider starps and higher cut in front and back make it well suited to outdoor wear, as it will protect some skin from the sun and not reveal a sports bra...
I usually wear a S in IB T's, a M in their long-sleeved baselayers, and the S fits perfectly-not too tight, but not too "billowy".

Is the fiesta color a true pink or is the shade more muted and between purple and pink?

It's definitely more of a true pink than a purple pink

Love my icebreaker retreat tank! This blue is from last spring/summer, but I just received the tank in anchor blue and it is a gorgeous dusty periwinkle color. More purple and less bright than the one I am wearing in this picture. I own this top in the fiesta and black as well and wear them all every week!

Bought this little gem for my fiancee who is currently teaching in hot and humid Tanzania. She fell in love with it immediately! And the fit was, well, sexy (if I may :) I have been an Icebreaker fan for some time but this was her first... she is now sold! She wore it 1 week straight around Zanzibar and, as expected, it was cool, clean and not smelly. She's a small 5'5" 115lbs and the XS fit perfectly. Also, 150 weight was perfect for the humid conditions.
Great multi-use tank

After seeing how well Icebreaker's fabric performs in hot weather, I was anxious to try it out in a tank top. The Abyss color is an absolutely gorgeous blue and the fit was perfect. I wore it on two days of backpacking with no stink and have also worn it out to dinner with a nice pair of capris. Because of the lower cut, it's not the ideal top to wear with a sports bra and a pack, but I made it work. It's a keeper.

You cannot go wrong with Icebreaker in terms of quality merino, and Superfine 150 is their lightest weight. Merino cannot be beat for breathability and no odor. The Retreat Tank Top is comfortable and cute. The gathering at the neck is cute. The back is cut high, right to the base of your neck, but that will protect your upper back from the sun. I love how well merino dyes and holds vibrant color. I got this top in Abyss and it is a pretty cornflower blue with a hint of purple.
All of my Icebreaker tops are Medium, and I bought this top in a Small which fits nicely. It's fitted but not tight. The Small shirts would be too small for my shoulders, I think, but that's not an issue with a tank. I'm usually a small or medium in tops, depending on the brand and the cut of the specific piece. An Icebreaker rep said that she wears their tanks a size smaller than their shirts, but this was last year and Icebreaker may have updated their cut and sizing this year. I'd say order your normal size, and if you're in between sizes then go for the smaller one.

It's a go-to top! But then I did buy the black one :o)
It's great with a sportsbra hiking - but only daytrips, the 'straps' are not wide enough for at heavy backpack. It's just as great with a skirt and heels!
NOT A SLIMFIT ! more like regular fit. I bought an M and it fits well (I would wish a very little bit more slim), glad I didn't order a large! B:96 W:79 H:108

I absolutely love this shirt! The color is vibrant (I have the blue version), the fit is loose, but it still is flattering due to the scoop neck, and the feel is soft and comfortable. I ordered another! I am 5 ft tall, around 100 pounds, xs was perfect.
Great improvement!

These are better quality and cut than previous year's similar style. I could wear these around town and go hiking also. These are "must have" for travelling!
