Cool under pressure, and silky soft.

Icebreaker made the Women's Short-Sleeve Tech Lite T-Shirt from super lightweight merino wool that caresses your skin and keeps you cool when things start to heat up. Whether you're hiking for seven straight days or running at high noon, you expect your shirt to withstand demands placed upon it. Merino wool is fundamentally tough; inherent UPF protection, naturally breathable, mediates vapor transport away from your skin, and innately odor resistant. As such, the Tech Lite tee feels silky smooth against your skin, even when you're shiny with sweat, and shouldn't stink to high heaven, even if you can't get to doing laundry for a few days. This techy tee isn't just for outdoor endeavors; pull it on with a print skort or khaki shorts for running around town without looking like a bum.

  • 100% 150gm jersey-knit merino wool
  • Regulates body temperature in warm and cool conditions
  • Odor and fire resistant
  • Crew neck

Too wool for school!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

As my first wool item of clothing, I didnt know what to expect. I'm from Florida, where I assumed I would never have the weather that would require wool layers. I tried this out during a visit to South Florida during 85 degree weather, and I was surprisingly cool and comfortable in this shirt! and I like the longer length and the fit in the chest and shoulders. I'm 5'6", 125 lbs, a B-cup, and the small fits perfectly! The blue color is really pretty! I only wash on gentle cycle and hang to dry, and so far the shirt has maintained shape and fabric feel, although it got a little more rough to the touch after a couple washes.

Great even in 90F heat!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have this shirt in a pale purple and I love it. It's soft and comfortable, the wool isn't scratchy and the cut is simple and classic. The length is great, and it looks good with a sports bra or a regular bra too.
I brought this shirt to Honduras wanting to test out the 'warm when it's cold, cool when it's hot' . The temperatures there were in the 40s celsius (100+F) plus humidity, you couldn't go outside without dripping in sweat. So needless to say this wasn't my go to shirt during the day (bikinis only!), but when things cooled down to around 30 celsius (90F) I wore this and was perfeclty comfortable. Very impressed, so I'm getting another! I'm 5'3 120lbs and have a small.

Wicks well, shows how well it's wicking

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I have this shirt in "vivid". It's washed up well and has held it's shape. I like the long fit, I probably should have bought a medium instead of a large (so I'd say it's pretty kind on the sizing).

It wicks well, but isn't the most flattering... The vivid color does really show the sweat (dark patches) so I generally ditch it first thing after a ride (I don't mind some small sweat patches, but when it makes you look like you're sopping in it, it's not my favorite).

Perfect until you wash it.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I loved this shirt. It fit perfect. The fabric is super nice. After I washed it, the collar and hem around the sleeves got all mangled. It is still tolerable, but now it is just another shirt.

Hi Amber-
This sounds like a flaw in the T. I recommend returning it and getting yourself a new one. The collar and hem shouldn't change with a wash.
Hopefully you didn't dry it?

Everyday Wear

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I've actually had a couple of these tech tee's now, and I always end up wearing them until they can't be worn any longer. They seem to hold up through anything I put them through, whether it's snowboarding, hiking, cleaning my house, or walking my dog, this is a piece that is so versatile and I can recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Normally a medium, prefer a large in this piece.
I'm about 5'5" 125lbs, so hopefully this gives you a good idea of what size you'd need.

New Tech T Lite- updated fit

Responded on

What does "updated fit" mean? How exactly is the fit different from this past season?

Responded on

We updated the fit on all of our sizes but most notably on the fringe sizes. We re-graded our sizes to fit a broader audience. You will also notice added length across the board.
