Description

Cool and breathable in summer, and insulating when the chilly temps set in.

Icebreaker made the Women's Superfine150 Tech T Lite Short-Sleeve Shirt from super lightweight merino wool that feels tissue-soft and airy like cotton in the heat. Once the sun sets and the breeze picks up, the Icebreaker Tech T Lite insulates you like, well, like wool. Naturally, this Superfine merino won't itch or scratch like grandpa's wool union suit. It's a few notches fancier than that.
  • Icebreaker switched from 150g/m2 to 140g/m2 merino wool halfway through production, so you might receive either weight (the weight of the 140 merino is just a little bit lighter)

My core temperature has a difficult time regulating, either hot or cold - these thin merino wool shirts interestingly keep the heat in or let the heat out if needed.

Very comfortable and lightweight for all seasons. In winter, I use these as a base layer; for spring & summer they are great by themselves, and not too warm for summer backpacking in the Sierras. It's also a great shirt for knocking around town, very presentable. Size small fits perfectly; I'm 5'7" and weigh 120#.

These shirts are pricey, but they are long lasting -- after 4 years, I'm finally retiring one of my shirts.

This top will fit anyone with a long torso. Finally an exercise shirt that's long enough!

I got mine 4 days ago and what can I say, I've been wearing it day after day! It does not stink, it does not itch, it's long enough to tuck under your pants, it's thin enough to layer, but not so thin that you can't wear it on its own. I love Icebreaker products, I've tried other brands but it just doesn't compare!

I really enjoy these shirts. I am hoping that next season there will be more non- pink/purple/black color options. Wish they would bring back navy blue.

This was my first 100% wool piece for summer (I've used wool for winter before and liked it). I was skeptical about it, but I love it. The color is beautiful - I got the Gulf blue. The fabric drapes well and it's a great weight for layering in winter or for cooler summer weather. I live in Texas where the summer temps are in the 105+ range and it's too heavy for that temperature; however almost everything is! I previously lived in Colorado and I think this would work perfectly almost all summer in a similar climate. I'm wearing mine often now in the fall with temperatures in the 60s-80s. Even after a hard workout where I've sweated a lot, the shirt does not get as damp as even many of my synthetic shirts. It also retains absolutely no odor, which is great! After being washed, it dries faster than many of my synthetic shirts too - that was a big surprise to me. As a note - when I received mine it felt just a little scratchy. I washed it, dried it flat, and the scratchy feeling went away. I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, and I ordered the small, my usual size, and it fit fine with a bit of room to spare.

FYI - the azalea color appeared red on my computer but is actually more salmon colored. Very pretty color - just not what I was expecting. I do love these shirts.

I got one of these shirts as a gift and I have to say I'm quite a fan. I normally don't go for superfluous articles of clothing when I'm back-packing or hiking but this has become my go-to camp shirt and I've started using it on day hikes and short camping trips as well.

The fit is comfortable and flattering, the wool is incredibly soft and comfy to wear. It doesn't shrink in the wash and it takes forever before it starts to smell from sweat and B.O. It's also the perfect balance of warmth for your core, while still light and breathable enough to wear when your active in warm weather.

There's no doubt that it's a great shirt, but I have to admit, I doubt I would buy it for full price.

Got 2 of these shirts (black and blue) recently during a trip to the PacNW (Icebreaker has a retail store in PDX), and one ivory off of another discount website. Have taken shirts climbing, hiking and camping in both very hot and very cold weather. They were comfy & fantastic layering over my lovely Icebreaker Siren camisoles w/ built in bra. My only regret is getting boring black and white: these wool tops are REALLY gorgeous in a color, I love looking at the blue & keep getting compliments on it! But the main reason I buy these shirts is because they are supposed to be odor-resistant, and they seem to do the job there as well.
NOTE: *Not fitted!* and have a high neckline, to the point of being a bit dowdy but at least a high neck makes one's boobs look bigger.

These shirts are great. Very light-weight. I've worn them out in 85-90 degree temps and (although I sweated plenty) the shirts dried very quickly and didn't make me feel overly warm. I am a merino convert, for sure, and I think they'll do great when I travel later this year.

It's very light weight, quick drying and it does keep the smells off for a while (not always). I'm 5'8 and 160lbs. I got the medium and it fits perfectly.

Wasn't sure how wool, no matter how light, would do in a Florida summer. It doesn't itch and transfers moisture as well as synthetics and doesn't smell. Plus I don't freeze once I step out of the heat into the a/c.

I have a middle-age woman's figure = 36C bust, am somewhat barrel-chested, with a wider waist than the normal super slim athletic models I see wearing the Tech Lite T-Shirt.
How fitted are these T's ? I don't want something sitting too tight.

They are quite fitted. Icebreaker make the most fitted of the merino wool brands, which is fine, you'll just need to account for that when choosing a size.

32B -- XS fits close but not tight. I would prefer it slimmer through the waist. 36C? If you want such fit...my guess would be medium. The women's version of this T is not all that fitted!

BTW...Icebreaker sizing is all over the board...depends on the piece you order.

I was wondering if this shirt has a regular or a slim fit? I usually wear a medium and am looking for a size that is not too constricting in the chest area but also not so loose that it looks like a man's shirt.

The Tech T Lites are a regular fit- so they fit looser than the BodyFit baselayer range.

I've bought Tech T Lite for years, and the sizing has always been consistent. Until now. This season, spring/summer 2012 (colors such as sprout, gulf, azalea), Icebreaker changed the fit to be a bit more relaxed (which I'm not too happy with) and quite a few inches longer (which I like). Therefore, I would recommend size down from your previous season sizing. Also the fabric feels a little thinner than previous seasons. The tee I received also had a twisted side seam - doesn't affect performance, but something to be aware of. My impression is that while the fabric is as soft as ever, the quality is perhaps a wee bit less than previous years models.

Icebreaker has adjusted their sizing for some items for S12 after lots of consumer requests. On this Tech T Lite we increased the length (bonus!) and with the fabric being so light and natural there will be a slight amount of spirality (one seam going forward) which occurs on the longer length Ts. The fabric weight has not changed with the season.

Nicole, I don't mean to sound rude, but this is size inflation, and I bet that if IB asked a representative group of its customers, they will also get lots of "smaller" sized customers who request that they make the sizes the other way. After all, the old IB sizing is more like the Euro sizing, and the Europeans have gotten away without inflating their sizes. Please pass this comment on to IB as a +1 for smaller customers.
Anyway, I did get the smaller size, and love the shirt. It didn't have a twisted seam like the first one. The fabric also very much felt like the previous seasons, so what I got the first time was probably a 1-off. Finally, the sprout color is pretty awesome, a very bright green that I've been wishing for for seasons.

Just say no to "bonus" sizing!

I got this in the mystic colour, which is a little duller than it appears here. It's great though. I normally take a size UK 10 and bought a medium, which is good and not too clingy. I wear it daily for cycling to and from work and it just doesn't get smelly, and keeps me just the right temperature. It's cute too, nice and simple, and it doesn't look like you are wearing a techy t-shirt.
