Description

Feels like performance, doesn’t smell like performance.

The Icebreaker Men’s SuperFine150 Tech Short Sleeve T-Shirt breathes like cotton and wicks moisture like a high performance tee. What really sets this t-shirt apart is the odor-free, ultralight comfort of merino wool.
  • Icebreaker switched from 150g/m2 to 140g/m2 merino wool halfway through production, so you might receive either weight (the weight of the 140 merino is just a little bit lighter)

Great tee.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These shirts are great for any activity, the wool keeps you dry even on a hot day on the trail.

Favorite T-shirt

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This is the best T-shirt that I have purchased, I bought 3 more since. Very easy to take care of, perfect for anything. It will give of a slight smell when very wet but it is gone as soon as it dries.

Icebreaker Merino is the Best

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

If you are in search of a great general use shirt/base layer, look no further than this top. The merino is soft and doesn't itch. It also breathes extremely well. Care wise, it is important to remember to hang dry these. It keeps them in great shape, longer.

As far as sizing, I am 5'11", 155lbs, 32" waist etc and the medium fit well for more of an underlayer fit. If I were to wear it casually, I might go to a larger size, purely for a little extra length.

No itch, no stains, no clammy feeling!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This material feels almost like cotton - very soft and comfortable. Unlike cotton that soaks up moisture and then cools and sticks to your body, this shirt dries quickly and never feels clammy. Added bonus feature for the pigs among us: The fiber also is very stain resistant - small food stains come out easily.

Icebreaker is the best!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Great travel and all-around shirt; well made, easy to wash, quick to dry and never scratchy. Ordered size XL based on comments (6', 190) athletic frame with broad shoulders; some room to spare but comfortable.

Smells like Sheep

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

Which is to say, it smells great! Even after repeated days of use, it doesn't pick up any funky underarm odors. It might smell a little farm-y when wet, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Wicks moisture, keeps you cool in the sun and through workouts, otherwise works great. Unlike a lot of other people on this site and elsewhere, I found that it ran true to size. I'm 5'9", about 160, and would order the small, for what it's worth.

Nice shirt but too large

  • Fit: Runs large

The M size of this shirt is actually larger than the L size bodyfit 150 crew. Had to return it.

King of all T's

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love this T. It feels great, it makes me look great, and it keeps me smelling fresh. This is my go-to travel shirt. I can wear it multiple days and it will always look fresh. Merino wool is the ultimate of materials and Icebreaker has harnessed it into a great shirt.

Love this shirt

Can't say anything bad about this shirt, the tittle says it all.

Fantastic Shirt. Sizing runs small

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great shirt, warm and looks great. Just a bit small, I'd recommend a size up for a relaxed fit.

Fantastic Shirt. Sizing runs small

How is the sizing with these shirts? ...

Posted on

How is the sizing with these shirts? according to the icebreaker size chart, I should be an XXL based on chest size. However, most other shirts, I am an XL. Under armor, XL, patagonia, XL , etc.
General build, 6'3", 235 pounds, broad shoulders, linebacker type build.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there- Icebreaker tends to run small so go with an XXL for your build.

I am about your size and I agree with Nicole. Go with the XXL. If the fit is off BC has a great return policy. Best of luck!

Responded on

yea definately go with the XXL. I'm 5'6"165 lbs with a muscular build and a medium is skin tight.

Great warm t-shirt

Keeps me nice and warm on cool days. Great base layer for any type of activity and if you get too hot you can just wear the t-shirt by itself. I own 5 of these.
I'm 181 cm and 165 lbs and wear a medium

Bit loose

Super light and comfortable. Loose fit. Bordering on too loose. Seems like the perfect shirt to take traveling in warm/hot climates.

Great lighweight Shirt

Great lightweight wool shirt with a good fit. Somewhat short sleeves but not out of line with a lightweight shirt. And it doesn't stink after a few days of wear!

Great product, sizing a little small

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm an frequent Arc'teryx user, and a little bigger of a guy. Usually where an XL (sometimes L) in most of these types of shirts. The XXL is quite snug - which Icebreaker says it supposed to be tighter - but it's tight enough that it's a tad too tight for my liking. Otherwise, awesome shirts. I still use them despite the lack of comfort. They just don't stink after multiple days, and look great, no matter how crumpled up they were in my pack.

Are you kidding me?

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Apparently not.
Good job Icebreaker, this is a rad shirt for sure!
Right out of the bag, it's a little scratchy, which is expected. You can be patient and wash it once to give you the nice soft feel, or you can just not give a s*** and wear it!
I just wore it, and now after a coupld hard days skiing, nice and soft!
Hardly notice any sweat while wearing this shirt. It all wicks away before it actually gets wet.
I also usually sweat at night, but when I'm too lazy to remove my shirt before bed, I wake up dry as the desert!
Very impressed, Icebreaker. Top notch wool products

The only t-shirt I wear

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was introduced to Icebreaker during a NOLS semester in New Zealand in 2008. I wore my first Tech T for those 80 days straight, and I've been an addict since.

After the first wash, these are the softest t-shirts I've ever worn. I wear them alone to stay cool during the summer, and I'm wearing one right now as a base layer under a heavier Icebreaker zip. I wear them around the house, to the office, on my runs, on top of mountains, while traveling, and just about any time I'm wearing a shirt at all. The only cotton t-shirts I still own are undershirts to wear with dress clothes. Heck, if Icebreaker ever make a white Tech T, I'll dump those few remaining undershirts, too!

One weakness is their relative delicacy in the wash. These things have held up for me through hell and high water in the backcountry, but you really do need to heed the care instructions when it comes to washing and drying. Repeated trips through the washer and dryer will make for a sad Tech T, often with holes in the upper back where the fabric is stressed. As long as I air dry my shirts, though, they remain perfectly happy. It's not a deal-breaker for me, as putting in some extra effort to take good care of my quality gear is rewarding.

They really do resist odor as advertised. Realistically, I can wash one at the beginning of the week, run in it a few times, and it'll still smell presentable and feel soft at the end of the week. They're the polar opposite of Patagonia's Capilene shirts, which I also run in--they're more or less unbearable after a single run.

I like a snug fit, so I order a size down. I'm 5'6" and about 150 pounds, and a small is very comfortable.

Buy one of these now, gradually grab new colors as they're released, and take care of them! They've done me good.

Heed The Warnings!!!

Heed the warnings! I got the green. Freekin' love it!
Now I have to save up for another.:(
I'm 5'9"195lbs I'm built like a wrestler (thick all over) . The XL is good for me.

The green shows the sweat, like the gray.

It feels a little scratchy. (Something other reveiwers didn't mention.) But as long as your not overly sensative, then this has the usual cotton shirts beat hands down.
