Wool in summer? Hell yeah. Pull on your Icebreaker Women’s SuperFine140 Tech Lite T-Shirt to trail run, tour a muggy city, or just lie in a hammock on a hot day. Made from ultra lightweight merino wool, the Tech Lite tee makes a great alternative to cotton tees, thanks to merino’s smooth, soft hand, body-temp-regulating abilities, and antimicrobial properties. That is to say, you won’t itch, overheat, or stink when you wear this top.
I've been wearing Icebreaker t-shirts for quite a while. I use them for working out. It breaths well...I don't get to hot and it absorbs sweat at the same time. You can also dress them up. I would recommend them to anyone who is active.
Took a few of these to Cambodia and Indonesia running around in the jungle - they work great in very hot humid conditions, but try not to let the laundry lady put them in the dryer. Also wear them to work where the A/C is set to Men and I usually freeze all day and they kept the goosebumps away.
I recently ordered two Icebreaker SuperFine140 Tech T-Lites from Backcountry because they were nearly half of what I paid for the shirt I currently own! Unfortunately the one I have has begun to chafe around the neckline; at the end of the day I am left with a pale red ring on my skin. I tried washing it inside out with jeans to remove fluff but the seams still seem to be itchy.I adore this luxurious fabric so I'd love to hear any suggestions on how to remedy this issue. Are the seams on the newer model of this shirt sewn differently? I think the 140 Tech T-Lite may be from 2008.The sleeves could be a bit longer to prevent them from riding up. But otherwise the fit is perfect -XS is slim but not tight.

Can't believe how much I love this shirt! I have it in 4 colors now. The weight is perfect and not itchy. I can wear it in warm weather alone or with a long sleeve layered underneath. Also looks great under a jacket. If it didn't have the embroidered logo it would be absolutely flawless, but that's a small price to pay for great quality and perfect fit. Did I mention it keeps you dry and stink free too?! I'm 5'8" and wear a size 10...took a large.
Really comfy, not itchy, true to size (if anything a bit loose fitting). The weight is great for hiking and it has never smelled. I don't dry it in the dryer. It hasn't pilled. I highly recommend it and will be buying more of these.
I love this shirt! It has a very flattering cut and it is oh so comfortable as well as wicking and not smelly as synthetics tend to be for me. It's my new favorite T.
Merino wool rocks! I use this shirt for hiking and working out and it just doesn't get stinky! Lightweight, breaths well. A slight itch with this shirt that I don't have with other smartwool shirts, but I think it will soften over time/with washings. I will be buying more of these shirts!
I live on a subtropical island that is flanked by two major oceans. Most of the year is nasty, humid, and HOT. I picked this shirt up in the hopes that it might just be what this ultra-marathoner needs to stay chafe-free while on long, epic training runs. Not only did this shirt stay dry just as advertised, but I actually stayed noticeably cooler on my run that I usually do. The added benefit is that this shirt doesn't turn into a 50lb-weighted shirt soaked in your sweat. It stayed light and comfy throughout my long 30-mile training runs! I am now going to buy every color this company offers!
I cross-border shopped these on the recommendation of a Maori friend. She was right. They are terrific workout shirts! Sweat like pig but don't smell like one. I bought two and maybe should have bought more! Walking home from the gym in famous Canadian Arctic weather is almost a pleasure wearing this shirt as a first layer.
I love these to hike and kayak in. They are very versatile for all weather. In Florida, I wear them all year. Wool, when wet retains its capacity for warmth, too. In cold weather, I wear these over my silk longjohns, then layer up. That way, on the trail I can shed the layers down to the T and silk.
I love these shirts. I bought one of each color. They are super comfy. I wear these shirts for workout and casual. They are also perfect for layering under long-sleeve Icebreaker shirts. I use these from gym workout, to horse riding, to snow shoveling and just doing household projects. They do not retain smell, wick beautifully and wash up perfect. I hang mine to dry and they have not shrunk. These are the perfect product for those who get itchy thinking about wool. No itch at all. Plan on taking these to New Zealand for weather from beach to glacier.
I love these t-shirts. I usually start to itch at the sight of wool but these do not make me itch. The cut is very flattering. And the Poppy is a gorgeous sunset red/orange. Highly recommend this one. I have 4!
Who says wool is only for winter? Merino breathes better than synthetics, and the 140 g/sq. m weight is luxuriously light. This shirt is soft and has the beautiful bold color of wool. I wear a medium in most brands, and all of my Icebreaker tops are mediums. This medium fit nicely, and I'd say it is fitted but not tight. It's also longer than your average shirt, but not too long. I highly recommend it for both technical and casual wear.
