Description

Nature’s miracle fabric.

Icebreaker makes the BodyFit200 Chakra ¼- Zip Top for Women from superfine merino wool, and the result is everything you could want in a long-sleeved base layer top. Merino wool fiber is breathable, insulating, and has natural anti-odor properties. The Chakra zip features raglan sleeves, flatlock seams and seamless underarms for freedom from chafing and binding. The low-profile zip opening to the stand-up neck complements the top’s natural breathability by allowing you extra ventilation on warmer days. This fine, non-itch wool is also sustainably and humanely grown, so you can feel good about your gear.

I got this one and the Stoic Breathe Composite Zip T (long sleeve). I got the extra small (5'4" 105 lbs) The stoic is a nylon/poly blend while this one is strictly wool. Honestly I love both shirts but I favor this one in that it's more breathable and doesn't feel as constricting as the stoic. Which I think is strictly due to materials. The Isle color is gorgeous and it is very soft. The good thing about merino wool (in my experience) is that it gets softer every time you wash it. The chest zipper really doesn't zip far down (The stoic zips so far it showed the top of my sports bra - not a big deal but noted). It came with some really cool facts about sheep in New Zealand, but my only downside was that it was packaged (by manufacter-er) in it's own cardboard box AND had tags too, seemed a bit of a waste of materials. Still a badass shirt

This was my very first experience with merino wool, and I'll never wear anything else for a baselayer. Warm, dry, and thin , it makes a world of difference from its synthetic counterparts. I recently wore this to bag 2 14ers in Colorado, and it was perfect to keep me warm in the morning, and cool once the intense sun rose over us at the top. The quarter zip was perfect for venting as well as protecting the back of my neck from the sun beating down. A must have for anyone who does anything outside! I am 5'10 with slender build, and the small fit me perfectly.

Terrible quality. It was ragged and tissue thin. It was way too short in the torso and sleeves. I wear a small in every other type of top like this but this was such an awkward fit. I would never in a million years ever even try another piece of clothing from this brand because of this. Thankfully, Backcountry has a great return policy!

I have several Icebreaker pieces. But the quarter zip tops are my favorites--especially the Chakra 200. I wear it hiking, to bed, back out of bed, horseback riding, back to home, and then to yoga. It is thin enough to put another layer over it; absolutely non-itch (and I have allergies). I love these tops.

Seriously, they don't stink and they are so warm. Icebreaker is exceptionally comfortable. As a snowsports professional, I wear them every single day! I love that I don't have to wash them daily, comfort, and warmth!

ordered this in peacock and I love the color! it's warm enough to wear it alone under a coat for these cool fall new england days. I just wish it had a little bit more room to layer a thin shirt/tank underneath it comfortably.

If you order your regular size, know that the Chakra zip fits skin tight in the torso. I was hoping to use this top as an extra layer for running/biking over a sleeveless or short sleeve top, but there is absolutely no room for another layer beneath it. I usually wear a small and have an athletic build (no belly to speak of). I don't want to go a size up as then it will be too big across the back and chest (you know -- that "bat wing" under arm effect). The sleeves are nice and long and it is a well-made piece. If it had a little extra room in the torso, it could function as a base layer as well as a second layer... and be perfect. As is, it's not a keeper.

Like Jaima, I'm giving it four stars because it's not quite as odor-proof as I had dreamed. Other than that, it's a great top, true to size and color, light and warm but not too warm, etc. I do love merino wool and have enjoyed my icebreaker pieces in the past, so I intend to keep building my merino wool collection.

I have several Icebreaker shirts and have owned many for years!! Love them all and can't say enough great things about the way they fit and keep you warm.

should have took more notice of that statement in a review,I prefer these types of tops a little looser for everyday wear, returning mine as I felt it ran too tight, other wise seemed well constructed.

As a base layer which this top is designed to be, you want it to be snug fit. But for casual wear, you should always size it up for loose fit.

How is the length of the Chakra zip?? I find some of the body fit tops for the icrebreaker line are a little shorter than i would like. The 260 tops are usually a great length!! I'm trying to decide if I should size up in order to get a longer length!!

This is a beautiful top which also keeps me warm just like all my other merino wool tops.

this shirt is a staple for me. I now have 3. I love it for running, I can just tie it on my waist once i heat up and it is super lightweight. the 1/4 zip is great for dumping heat when i start to warm up. great for those cool early morning runs

This is now my all time favorite cool, damp weather bike jersey. It fits close enough not to flap, doesn't stink when sweaty, and doesn't itch.
Short zipper can be adjusted to let out excess heat, or zipped up for more warmth.

True to size, but close fitting as
a base layer should be. I got
a medium to make sure it would go over my workout tops without any
lumps showing (normally I would wear a small). So far it fits just right, keeps me perfectly comfortable in spring/summer temps (it is nice protection against rain & over-air-conditioned spaces) and dont be fooled by the lightweight fabric - it is sturdy and well made. On a typical day I might scrape up against
muddy, moss-covered rocks in the pouring rain, then
after a light brushoff, I wear it - proudly - out for beers or coffee.

Is this light weight or med or heavy weight?...

Is this light weight or med or heavy weight? How does it compare to the bodyfit 260?

The BodyFit 200 is considered lightweight, you'll definitely notice a difference compared to the 260. It's pretty thin and best as a next to skin layer with a heavier mid layer and shell on cold days, or stand alone for spring skiing.

love it!
no itch at all. Perfect warmth. I usually sweat easily. wore it on a warmer day with a cami under and a shell jacket on top; wore it on a colder day with another long sleeve layer with the jacket on top and was perfect both days.

I'm always cold...always. So, I love how warm wool is, but I definitely do not like the itch factor...enter Icebreaker merino wool. It's amazing stuff. It's warm, it's soft, and it rarely smells. The green color is adorable and I would guess the 1/4 zip is great if you get a little too warm.
