Perfect skiing sock.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Great warmth. Can't go wrong with merino wool. The thickness is right on. No bulk and comfortable all day. Happy feet are important in the mountains!

My go-to ski sock

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have been wearing these ski socks for about 3 years now. They are my go-to for both downhill and backcountry skiing. I love the light cushioning, anatomical fit and the colors. I can't stress enough how great the anatomical fit is with ski boots- no bulk at all. And the seamless toe on all Icebreaker socks means no irritating toe blisters. Three plus years of skiing and they have not worn out at all!

trail racing in ski socks!

trail racing in ski socks!

I couldn't wait for ski season to wear them. And all my other wool socks were "dirty."

Thank you to Backcountry.com and Icebreaker for hand-selecting me to review this piece of gear for the benefit of the backcountry.com community!

These socks are a beast. I've put the pair I own through the wringer... I like to pack light when I ski, and wool is the way to go. I usually bring 2 pair for a week long trip. It sounds gross, but it's wool! It's a naturally wicking material and it airs out! If you get really sweaty, rinse them out and let them dry! It's no different than hiking in the same socks for days on end. :) These suckers hold up, for sure.

One of my favorite things about Icebreaker ski socks is that they don't dig in to my skin. Well, they do a little, all socks do, BUT unlike Darn Tough and Smartwool, these are far more comfortable at the end of the day! Don't get me wrong, I love Darn Tough but their ski socks tend to be super tight on me.

I love the slight cushion on my shin in these socks. It's just enough added comfort. The socks are super light weight and not bulky. Hopefully your ski boots fit correctly, and these will slide right in! :)
