Icebreaker Paramount Hooded Jacket - Women's

This jacket is stunning. I have never owned a jacket more flattering than this one, the cut is absolutely perfect and I feel like a million bucks when I wear this out and about. Icebreaker included lots of thoughtful details like a smooth silky lining, pockets that both zip and snap, a 2-way zipper, a handy little breast pocket, and adjustable sleeve cuffs. The texture of this Merino wool is SO soft and looks just beautiful.

I was surprised about the sizing though. I typically take a small in most all brands, and was lucky enough to try this one on before buying. I am 5'3" and around 120 lbs and was SWIMMING in the size small. The sleeves were inches too long and the jacket itself was much too loose. The XS size was 100% perfect.

Hope to have this jacket for a long long while. Definitely WORTH the initial investment, because this baby is built to last. The classic cut will never go out of style...

I like the overall look of the coat, but the surface pills quite a bit for an outerwear item; I realize this is a characteristic of very fine wool but I thought they would have gone with a less-fine grade for outerwear. Additionally, the single sleeve snaps result in the sleeve gapping at the wrist, regardless of whether the sleeve is snapped in the smaller or larger cuff position.

This jacket is beautiful looking. The pockets are adequate and zip shut. It is boxy and does not fit in a flattering way although it is true to size. The cuff adjusts with snaps which don't snap tightly - fine for citywear but not for sports/back country use. When it is zipped up the zipper is against my chin, painful, and the 2-dimensional hood adjustments still don't hold the hood against my head. Also, hood is not removable.
