Is the laundry dry yet?

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I always look forward to getting this pair of undies out of the dryer. I am 5'2 and 100 lbs and XS fits perfect. The band is a substantial thickness but not too tight. The leg holes don't cut in so tightly that I get underwear lines but they are loose enough that I don't feel them. I can wear these low on the waist and it doesn't ride up in the groin. Wool makes this way more breathable than the synthetic undies out there. What's not to love about those colors?

best underwear ever!

These are very comfortable, moisture wicking and definitely not itchy. Love them! Definitely worth the price. By the way they wash perfectly too.

wooly wonders

I have owned two other models of Icebreaker boyshorts & so felt wary of these. However, I loved them straight out of the box. They do not ride up, the waistband is very comfortable, and they fit me well. I liked them so well that I promptly ordered four more pairs. Size S fits me as a 5'8" 130 pound athletic build woman.

Love them!

My favorite piece of underwear in my closet. That should say it all!

Not to shabby

These are nice, but not perfect. Like another reviewer mentioned the band (while not uncomfortably tight) does cut in if you have any womanly padding. They could benefit from a lower profile or slightly looser waistband. I LOVE the elastic free legs because they nearly disappear under active-wear (no obvious underwear lines). They do ride up a tiny bit, but I think that could be solved with a lower profile waistband and by making the backside from a continuous piece of fabric to do away with the mid-line seam. I hardly notice these undies (a very good thing) unless I lift up my shirt and see the slight muffin top. I also have one pair that developed a tiny hole (in the fabric, not the seam) on the first wearing but it hasn't grown after 4-5 more washings+wearings. My other pairs don't have holes so hopefully it was just a fabric defect. These are the undies I pick when I want to wear fitted pants with something more substantial than a thong.

boy shorts for those truly shaped like a boy

I have other icebreaker undies that are warm, comfortable and flattering.. These would also no doubt be warm but fit almost exactly like I was wearing a tight pair of men's boxers. I found them to be tight in the elastic waist and baggy everywhere else, and I don't have a particularly curvy figure.

not my favorite of Icebreaker's skivvies

I love Icebreaker's bikini-style undies and the pace 200 hipsters, but I wasn't stoked on these. I didn't have any issues with the waistband - the problem I had was that there was too much fabric in the crotch part. It just was not comfortable or particularly cute looking, in my opinion. Perhaps I'm just not a hot-pant-style girl. I gave three stars because the quality was there and I'm sure they'll be the right style for other girls.

elastic waistband

These boyshorts are pretty nice overall. S fits me and I'm about 5'4" 130 with squat thighs. There is no tight binding at the legholes. However, the elastic waistband makes up for all that! Muffintop galore! Also there are 2 very big tags in the side of the underwear that will itch. Overall these are very comfy but with a few downsides that make it painful to pay that much for them. I will keep them though because for hiking I think they will still be comfortable and the elastic will certainly keep them from moving.

Responded on

I also had the muffin top problem with the correct size. I love the width of the waistband and it doesn't feel uncomfortably tight, but if you've got an ounce of body fat, expect the muffin top. I don't think these would be in danger of falling off if the band were looser. The tags were also annoying, but I just cut them out.
