Icebreaker made its sassy Siren Hipkini out of  ultralight merino wool with a touch of Lycra for a great fit. Soft and gentle against your skin, the Siren has a low rise and full coverage in the back. The merino naturally deals with odor so you can get through multi-day backpacking treks and hut-to-hut ski tours without feeling stinky or using up precious packing space with extra undies.

    Wife loves them!

These are my wife's favorite underwear for doing anything active. They wick sweat well and are very comfortable (I've had a similar experience with the boxers). The one downside is that they aren't super durable. After a year holes have started to form, but that hasn't stopped her from buying another pair.

      The ONLY underwear.

These are attractive, comfortable, and much silkier feeling than even the finest cotton underwear. My jeans slide smoothly over them. This merino wool is soft, silky, and wicking so they don't hold any moisture. The perfect underwear.

      The search continues....

I thought I had finally found the perfect non-wedgie inducing style of underwear. These are VERY comfortable but the fabric is just too thin. I wore this pair once a week for about a year and threw them away last month for gigantic holes. This happened to me with other hipkini colors so do not expect to get more than 52 wears out of this product. I expect YEARS of life from a product at this price. Disappointed!

        Love these for all exercise

These are not grandma's wool undies -- they are soft, cute and highly functional. I wear them backpacking, hiking, etc., plus travel. Since they're wool, they're not stinky ( 2 pairs fine for a week of backpacking, or longer). They dry fast, and have a low profile (so panty lines). I've mostly found them to be durable. I've had several pairs for about 3 years, and they're in excellent condition. The last pair I just bought showed up with a hole after a couple washings. Not sure what happened there, if the hole was there from the start, or just caught an edge of the drier. As for size, I'm right in the middle of a small & medium. Smalls are a tad snug, but in no way obscene or unusable. Mediums are a tad roomy, but not weird. Next time I will stick with the medium size.

        Big Seam

I like these, but I like the Icebreaker Sprite Hot Pant much better. The coverage is about the same, but the Sprite's are so much more comfortable. The Sprites are my new favorite undie.

I got the medium size in both styles. The waist band on these is too small and tight. But, my biggest issue was the seams on the side. I took the backpacking and the seams dug into me so hard from the weight of the pack, that I just couldn't take it. The Sprites didn't do that at all.

So, I just use these around the city. The waist band has loosened up, so that part is comfortable, now. But, I stocked up on the sprites, instead of the Sirens. Also, the elastic on one pair is fine, but the on the other pair is all messy and unraveling. I've treated them both the same, as far as I can tell.

        Love the fit and material

As been said before; these undies are super comfortable, thin with a nice cut and in general quite amazing. But I think they break too easily. I have five of them and only after a few months one of them got some small holes (that soon got bigger), then the next pair, and then the next pair... Considering the price, the durability should be better.

        Best merino undies I've tried

I bought these, the Ibex briefs and the Smartwool hiphuggers all at the same time. They have all been worn and washed about once a week (hand washed in the shower, line dried) for the last year. In that time my weight has fluctuated and I have used them for both daily and athletic wear. The icebreakers are by far holding up the best (no pilling or loss of elasticity) and remain the most comfortable and flattering after both weight loss and gain. Second pick is Ibex, by the way. As usual, Smartwool failed to make a product that can stand up to any regular use. I just wish Icebreaker would bring some decent colors/patterns back! I'm an adult, I don't want cartoon mushrooms on my underwear.

The best underwear you can buy

I have merino underwear by Ibex, Smartwool and PulseNaked (a small company in Colorado), and I like the products by those companies very much. However, for me these undies by Icebreaker are the best because of the fit and the fabric. They stay in place perfectly, never ride up, never slide down, never move around yet are not tight in any way. The elastic around the legs is thin and lies flat so it doesn't show under clothes and it doesn't dig in to you (or cause bulges). The fabric is very lightweight and breathable yet substantial enough you don't need to worry about ripping them when you're pulling them up (unlike the ultralight Smartwool NTS undies). The fabric is also great because of its anti-bacterial/anti-yeast properties. Seriously, you can wear these undies for several days on a backpacking trip and they won't retain odor. Also, when I started using merino undies for everyday wear I noticed fewer problems with yeast infections, etc. so I actually think they are more healthy for your body than regular cotton or synthetic underwear. Yes, they are expensive but they are totally worth it, and keep in mind they are quite durable. I usually get a couple pair of merino underwear a year and still have some that are six years old that are perfectly wearable. If you compare this to cotton or cheap synthetic underwear that you have to replace every year the merino is actually not that expensive.

        Best underwear out there!

Yes, they're pricey, but oh so worth it! I'm slowly replacing all my ExOfficio underwear with Icebreaker. Who knew wool underwear would be so great? It's lightweight, flattering, and comfy!

        Almost just right

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: xs and medium

When I ordered, there wasn't a size small available in an color, so I went for an xs in one color and medium in another. The XS is just a tad tight but still wearable. The medium is just slightly loose. Overall, I like the cut, and it wears well under clothes.

        Superior fit!

I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and breathable these were. I am 5' 6", 125 lbs, and I typically wear a size 4 or 6. The small fit perfectly. I really like the cut of the underwear, and the style sits well during physical activity, even under fitted leggings.

        *Update!*

Great for adventuring! While travelling with my sister (who is not as inclined to spend 100% of her time outdoors like I like to), my most recent trip required a lot of changes in pace: one minute I was hiking, the next shopping, in between, long drives sometimes in sweaty clothes. These underwear really held up and kept me comfortable and dry. My lower back area tends to sweat, especially under multiple layers, and these undies were not stuck being soggy like my usual 100% cotton panties. No wedgies, no problems, no complaints! Looking forward to trying out other Icebreaker intimates!

        Not my style

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
        • Fit: True to size

I bought these after reading lots of positive reviews but as soon as I tried them on I knew they were not for me. Cute but the underwear has a definite panty line which I am not a fan of. I prefer the Icebreaker Sprite hot pant which does not show a panty line and are very comfortable. If this is your style of undies then they seem well made and you'll probably be happy with them.

        These are nice !

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size

These breathe well and dry fast - If there is one thing I hate, its getting hot down there when you are hiking! These did wick away sweat and dry fast. I just wish they were more of a bikini cut like the Patagonia Barely There bikinis. But overall, they worked well. I am 5'3" and 128 lbs with a 25" waist and 36" hips and the small fit perfect.

        My new favorite underwear

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size

I love this underwear. I'm slowly switching all my underwear over to Icebreaker. I sweat a lot when I hike and climb but only in, ahem, unmentionable areas. I've bought several different pairs of athletic underwear, including REI and Patagonia, but these were by far the best. They are thin and breathe while I'm hiking or climbing and thus stay dry. Also, they can easily be washed out while on the trail. Also, unlike cotton underwear, they don't retain odors and can be used for several days if one is backpacking or just a lazy college student. I have both the hipkini and the hot pant. I love both. I'm a curvier girl and these both fit well - no uncomfortable seams or elastic or anything else.

        Great for Gift Giving

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: True to size

I gave this to the 3 most important woman in my life, because they deserve the best.

        Mom - LOVES IT.

        Sister - LOVES IT.

        Aunt - LOVES IT.

All 3 of them ask for Icebreaker undies every Christmas. And I ...errr...SANTA ALWAYS delivers. There is nothing like giving the ladies you love something to keep them smiling all day long. The fabric is super soft, durable, and comfy. If you have a lady in your life whom you love - she deserves these.

Stop reading...now...just add several pair to your cart.

You won't look back. In fact, you will probably be back next month to order more. I'd bet my knickers on it!

        Icebreaker reinventing "delicates" part2

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

As you can see from my review of the Sprite Hot Pant, I have a thing for icebreaker performance undies. These things are a MUST. These are my go to whenever I need underwear that can keep up with what I am doing. These has proven perfect for yoga, gym, hiking, fishing, and skiing! When you are going to be exerting yourself and want something comfortable and breathable, these are for you. They make your booty look great as well. Great coverage, the elastic helps structure them so there are never any wedgies. These are my favorite by far in the icebreaker line (sorry hot-pant you are 2nd best). Highly recommended if you want high performance hipkini doing what you do! I am a 28 with some junk in the trunk and wear the medium.
