Solid Coat

I'm quite pleased with this purchase. Though this jacket is not nearly as amazing as the igloo hooded jacket from icebreaker, it fills a very basic niche in my wardrobe and does it well. It's warm, comfortable, and looks great, which is about all it needs to do. My only complaint is that it is slightly long in the sleeves, which makes me feel like it's too big despite the rest of it fitting quite well.

I wanted to love this jacket

First, let it be said I really like Ice Breaker as a company and I own several pieces of theirs, including another jacket that sits at the hip.

I *want* to love this jacket, but I don't. Here's why:

1) The Zipper.
Yeah, it's super great when zipped up, but that's the problem. It's *incredibly difficult* to get it to catch at the beginning of the zipping process. I thought I just needed to get used to the jacket, but after 4 months, I still struggle (sometimes for more than TWO FULL MINUTES) to simply zip up the jacket.

2) The pockets.
When it's cold out, I use my pockets to keep my hands warm, but the left pocket is actually sewn together in one spot towards the bottom. The button on front has been sewn through the pocket, so small stuff has a tendency to get stuck. I can't tell if this is a flaw in *my* jacket or if it would be on every jacket.

3) the Fit.
I got an XS and a S because I wanted to try out both sizes. I bundled up like it was winter. In the end, the XS fit better. (I returned the S). That said, after wearing it for several months, I've noticed the XS jacket always looks like it's being strained. I'm 5'2", 105lbs. Not a big girl by any definition. It's just unflattering.

I want to love this jacket, and it's a good jacket...but for the price, I feel like it needs to be more than "good"; it needs to be "great".

Is this jacket lined? Thanks!

My Wife Loves It

My wife says it is nice and warm. She tells me she loves it! ;-)

Narrow in shoulders, too big in chest

I normally wear a small in Icebreaker, but I sized up to a medium because I wanted to have space under for a sweater layer. Though the medium fit in the shoulders, it was very large in the chest (and I'm not a small-chested woman 34C) and long in the sleeves. I'm 5'4 and 138 lbs and I have a fairly athletic upper body. The cut is just weird, not looking balanced between the shoulders and body.

I love the fabric and the length (and the SAC price), but will unfortunately have to return it.

Great Jacket: poor zipper design

My husband ordered this jacket for me off SAC and I was super excited when it first arrived. Although a tad bit thinner than I would like, it is a very attractive coat. I love the length and the fit is great. HOWEVER, the zipper really sucks. It is difficult to get the coat zipped unless everything is lined up perfectly. There are two zippers because you are able to unzip from the bottom as well. They are floppy and very hard to get straight on the zip. I have only worn the coat once and may have to return it due to this flaw.

love it! size up

The images are very frumpy for such an elegant, well crafted coat. I took a chance anyway and I love it and so does my girlfriend. Size up, even considering that its tailored for slim women.

LOVE it, but wrong size

I'm normally a large in everything Icebreaker but this was WAY too big in the chest for me. I love the jacket and hope to purchase it again in medium because it will be a great jacket for everyday/nights out. If you are normally a medium in most every other brand but a large in Icebreaker stuff (like other reviewers) get your normal Medium in jacket.

Love the Jacket

Love the jacket. Nice and warm. Large was too big though. I'm 5'2" at 130 lbs. Medium might still be slightly big but at least I know it will fit over bulky sweaters and layered shirts. Someone mentioned the sleeves are slightly long, but I like it like that. Fits over gloves nicely. Not scratchy at all just as advertised. Length was exactly what I was looking for, ends at mid thigh. Looks great with jeans & skirts. Great for city, walking around town, night out to dinner. Dress up or dress down. Packed great in my carry-on for travel, a huge plus, folds nicely. I could never do that with my other trench coat which was bulky & heavy. This was the only coat I brought with me on trip to England. I was happy. Also, I get a lot of complements on how nice the jacket looks. Worth every penny! :)

It fits true to size- you will want an XS or S depending on how you want it fit.
