The Icebreaker Men's Landa Jacket bridges the gap between technical and casual to bring you a layer with uncompromising versatility. As you stroll around town, this jacket's PurePlus construction keeps you warm and comfortable. PurePlus consists of two merino wool fabrics: a 100% merino stretch knit interior to wick moisture, and a finely woven 80% merino, 20% nylon outer shell for wind-resistance and warmth. If you start jonesin' for climbing, the Landa Jacket will excel. The cut provides for arm lift, so the Landa Jacket won't ride up to far when you go for the next hold.

Bottom Line: The PurePlus Icebreaker Landa Jacket gives you the warmth of merino wool with super-smooth style.

needs one more pocket

Adding a napolean pocket would bump this to a 5 star for me.

I'm 6'1 220lbs, the XL fits great (sleeves are long but I'm ok with that), layers great with a light fleece

Update: I've dropped 20lbs - the L is a good fit now :)

Nice, but bigger than expected

By:

Ordered the medium - definitely too big for me. I'm 5'8" and generally live in the world of mediums. But the sleeves were much too long, and the cut (especially for a fitted jacket) was surprisingly big.

On the upside, it's a great looking jacket, and I replaced it with the small right away. Haven't tested it in the cold yet, but I expect good things. Backcountry's customer service was top-notch, and returning the medium was no bother.

Great business casual commuter jacket

By:
February 2, 2009

I have a short bike commute, for which I always wear my regular work clothes (business casual). This jacket blocks the wind on my commute, and with just a dress shirt underneath I usually stay warm even in 40 degree weather. The sleeves are a little long, which others complained about, but the extra length keeps my wrists covered while on the bike. The jacket is also nice enough that I don't feel shoddy at work.

For sizing, I'm 6' and wear a 44R suit jacket, and the XL fits me just about perfectly. It is somewhat slim around the waist.

Wool Softshell

This is my first softshell made from nature fibers. Very good to wear in formal situations as well as during free time somewhere outdoors.
