When the cold wind blows, trust the Icebreaker Men’s GT220 Quantum Hooded Long-Sleeve Shirt to keep your upper body and cranium insulated. With a full front zipper, front and back stash pockets, and reflective branding, this base layer goes way beyond your daddy’s long-johns.
On the 2008-9 Broad Peak Winter expedition I used the Icebreaker GT 220 as a second layer over the Icebreaker Bodyfit 150 Atlas top. This was the first time I tried merino wool instead of my usual polypro base layer and fleece system. In short, I was impressed. Even after a good sweat-session in high winds and low temps, the wool seemed to maintain its warmth better than fleece/polypro combo- even though it is a bit heavier. As a second layer, the GT fit well with its athletic cut, but I think it's a little loose for a base layer. I used my non-hooded version more often than the hooded one, as too many hooded layers can bunch up behind the neck. The GT is my now my personal standard for cold weather second layer.
Yet another beautifully designed piece to add to my icebreaker collection. It's a perfect "relaxed athletic" cut that is honestly the most comfortable thing in my drawer...on the rare occasion it IS actually in my drawer and not on me. Extremely comfortable and (according to my girlfriend and my own sense of vanity) quite good looking. Buy one!!!

This thing is something else. It is one of the most versitile pieces of base layers I own. I bought it early in the season, and couldn't be happier. It has amazing ventilation, is warm, blocks most wind(does have vents under pits) and overall does an awesome job. Cannot reccomend it enough!
Another seriously amazing product from Icebreaker, but there's something different about this one - it looks f-ing sweet. My girlfriend says all of my other IB layers make me look like a climbing bum, but this one has the best of both worlds - function and style. I wear it as a baselayer, and the merino wool is soft, warm, and extremely efficient with temperature regulation. Altogether a great piece of gear.
I got this for city cycling in Chicago, hiking, snowboarding, and just general wear. It is awesome. The finishing on the inside is good and seems in line with all my Ice breaker stuff. The red panels are almost waffle like but not thin. This is going to work great.
I love this base layer but every picture i saw online represented them as a dark grey and orangish color, i was surprised to find that it is actually Grey and Red
