  • Flatlock stitching eliminates the bulges that cause chafing and discomfort at the seams

Excellent hoodie

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size
  • Height: 5'8"
    Weight: 140 lbs
    Size Purchased: Small

This hoodie is hands down, just an excellent, well-thought out piece from Icebreaker. Before purchasing I had some concerns due to the price point, but they were quickly vanquished once I put the hoodie on. It is SO comfortable! Seriously, the Lycra gives it just enough stretch, and the merino wool is so soft.

This jacket has exceptionally well thought out and executed features. There is fabric underneath the zipper, sort of like a draft collar, that prevents the zipper itself from touching your body, which is great when wearing it without a shirt because you don't have to deal with that cold zipper feeling! The thumb holes are great for active wear and prevent the sleeves from riding up. There is a hole behind the zippered chest pocket so you can run a headphone cord through it. Just little attention to details like that are what make this a great piece. It is very comfortable in a wide range of temperatures as well, and the anti-microbial properties of merino are going to serve well because I hardly ever take this thing off! I also have really dug the low profile hood for running to keep my hair back.

Seriously, a touch sticker price, but well worth it as this hoodie is going to be worn often and last a long time.

Favorite hoodie

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size
  • Height: 6'5"
    Weight: 220 lbs
    Size Purchased: XL

Love this hoodie.

As is typical of Icebreaker the material is awesome. Really warm in the cold but still breathes once you get a sweat on. So far have just used it for riding to work but once it wears out a bit will be taking it on hikes ect.

What I really like is the fit. At 6'5 with an athletic build it is hard to find clothes that fit at the shoulders as well as the waist and arms. I have the size XL and it fits perfectly. The fit of the hood is also cool, wrapping slightly over your forehead rather than sticking out and catching the wind and not providing any warmth.

They have also paid heaps of attention to detail. Under the arms is a slightly different weave that looks to be more breathable. Also, there are a few useful pockets without being too bulky.

Decent hoodie jacket

Totally satisfied with this jacket.

Light, warm, not itchy merino wool. Really appreciated reflective line.

Perfect hoody!

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size
  • Height: 6'2"
    Weight: 175 lbs
    Size Purchased: Medium

This hoody is perfect for cool to cold weather. The added benefits of wool mean it can be light but still warm. I'm 6'2" & 175 pounds slim and the medium fits perfect. My arms are 34/35 and the sleeve length is right on. I love the thumb holes and the chest pocket is large enough to hold an iPhone 6 (6+ won't fit). Do yourself a favor and get one of these. You won't be disappointed.

Unanswered Question

I`m 5'5'' is there some choices for short person? Most sizes are for 5' 10'' and above.

Perfect, man. Perfect!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

Merino wool is where it's at. I have the Quantum vest, which has a little more fitted cut than this hoodie. Still athletic, but without showing your nips to the world. The monkey thumbs on the sleeves are probably good if you have a 33"-34" sleeve. I'm 6"2', 185 lbs, 43" chest and 33" waist. The large fits me perfectly. I have 35" arms, so I just don't use the thumbholes.

This item is my new go-to midlayer, now I'm looking forward to Fall and Winter.

Top notch, you won't be dissapointed

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I have owned one of these for over 12 months now and this is my go to hoody for just about everything be it casual wear, cool weather running or a midlayer for skiing. It has an extremely comfortable fit, breathes and wicks moisture like a beast and you just can't beat Merino wool. I wore this jacket every day for 2 weeks straight snowboarding in Japan and there was not any smell at all!

This jacket is amazing

  • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit:True to size

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. It is very soft, thin but very warm! He loves it. It's worth the money!

Incredibly versatile

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

Just back from a five-day, 1200 mile motorcycle trip chasing corners from Pittsburgh to Southwestern Virginia and back. Temperature ranges as varied as the terrain and road conditions. From 80s in the valleys in bright sunshine to 25 miles of 48 degree, fog-bound creeping along the Blue Ridge Parkway to the 56 degree high-speed jaunt home on Monday. I never took this hoody off once (other than to shower). Thin polyester long-sleeve underneath when it was hot and light insulated vest on top when it was cooler. Never too hot and never once cold. I've always been a fan of merino wool since my first really good cycling shorts in the 1970s. The new clothing applications are outstanding and this is a great example. I'm 6', 215lbs, long-waisted and the XL is perfect. And it never smells!

Amazing Hooded Full zip shirt!

I absolutely love wearing this shirt whenever I go out for casual dressed functions. It keeps me warm and allows me to pair it with a nice icebreaker t so I don't sweat in hotter conditions. If you want style and comfort all at the same time choose this option and you will never be disappointed! One word of CAUTION: Never machine dry this garment! Always hang dry! I am 6'2", athletic build, and I wear a large

Eric, just based on the fit, would you say I should go with a medium or large? I am 6'1 175, thanks.

I am actually right in that range and would definitely say a large is the best way to go. A medium would be way too short.

Eric - I'm on the other end of the size from John - I'm 6"4, 197 lbs, 35" waist. I don't care for baggy fit, but don't want it to be a straight jacket either. I'd appreciate your input on sizing - Large or XL if you were me?

Hey Kendall - With your height alone you would need to go with an XL if you are a little leaner at the top. I would recommend measuring your chest and if it is any bigger than 45 you will need to do a 2 XL

Wide Temperature Range Midlayer

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have had one of these hoodies for a year and have been inpressed by how well it regulates body temperature. I have worn it running on mornings that start cool (mid forties) but remain comfortable well above those temperatures. This jacket does just as well on bitter days, keeping me comfortable well below freezing. I love the athletic fit and the soft feel of the wool. It also dries quickly enough that I can wear it on a high tempo ride into work, and it won't feel damp on the way home.
