Give your competitors a run for their money when you train in the Icebreaker Men’s GT180 Chase Zip Long-Sleeve Top. Merino wool breathes easy, repels odor, and is machine washable. Gusseted eyelets give you more freedom of movement while a drop tail keeps you covered. Flat lock seam construction means no annoying chaffing a few miles into your run. Tuck your key and some cash away in the handy chest zipper pocket and you’re on your way.

Bottom Line: This top will be breathing easier than you come Mile Twenty.

Love Icebreaker!

I wear this shirt on trail runs. It works perfectly with another synthetic fitted shirt underneath. In 35-40 degree weather, I was warm but not overheating. What I love most about merino wool is the non-stink factor. I can wear this shirt 2-3 days without the worry of odors.

Does this shirt fit super tight or is there a little give? I'd rather it not be completely form-fitting, but wouldn't mind an "athletic cut."

it is an athletic fit, meaning more fitted. But it is not too tight. Also this shirt has some stretch to it so it is made to move with you and not be too constricting.

This shirt is outstanding!!! Icebreaker wicks moisture better than anything I've seen! You can actually see it work. I've worn it trail running on rainy days, and skiing in all conditions and I can't find anything but good things to say about it. Well, maybe one thing. The sleeves fit a little loose at the wrists but that's minor. Don't know what I'm going to do with all my polypro shirts now.

Is this best as a base-layer? or can I wear it over an undershirt?

It's a baselayer. You could use it by itself for aerobic stuff (running), but it's not gonna fit well with anything other than a really thin shirt underneath.

You could use it either way but I would personally wear a this over an undershirt or base layer....something pretty thin would work well.

Icebreaker fan!

By:

In the last year I have bought few Icebreaker items and everyone had exceeded my expectations! The product is great, solid, high quality. You wan't regret your purchase! Enjoy it.
(now - the only warning I would make is that if you are to use Icebreaker production in a high temperature/humidity climate during prolonged runs when you might sweat excessively - you can get some major skin chafing. it happen to me with my GT150 short sleeve shirt...)

great shirt

I'm sold on Merino wool as a base layer for long distance hiking and cycling trips. I've been using zip turtlenecks from SmartWool, Ibex, IceBreaker and Patagonia for years. I don't find any difference in the quality of wool between those four brands, but the fit and details vary a little. Right now, I believe this model is one of the few available that has a deep zipper, so it's my favorite right now.
