Soft and never scratchy, Icebreaker's fine New Zealand merino wool insulates you against the elements--and the Men's Long-Sleeve GT200 Chase 1/4-Zip Shirt does precisely this, with a killer athletic cut and flatlock seams to boot. Eyelet gussets add extra freedom of movement, and a deep front zip boosts airflow when you break a sweat. But don't sweat a little sweat though (sorry, couldn't help ourselves)--wool allows perspiration to evaporate away while still in vapor form, so it won't ever pool up on your skin. I've long been a fan of IceBreaker and picked this up on Steep and Cheap. It is made in China, and while it does fit and feel pretty good, there is a noticeable difference between it and the older IceBreaker gear I own. The stitching on this is a little rougher, and it isn't as well fitted in the waist as my other stuff. Still great at a discount, but perhaps not quite worth the full price.

I'd heard a lot about Icebreaker and how great the fit and merino were. This shirt quickly shed light on why people love Icebreaker. I wore it running on a cool night (upper 30's). I was a little freaked out the thin layer wasn't going to hack it, but after few minutes I was warm, the shirt kept me dry, and felt super light. Unbelievable stuff. It isn't loose but not tight either, Icebreaker merino gear is legit.
