The Icebreaker Women's Crush Full-Zip Hoodie hugs your body in soft, lightweight comfort while providing all the technical benefits of merino wool. Merino wool is warm and breathable, and the wool's antimicrobial nature resists odors so you can wear the hoodie for multiple days without needing to wash away smells. 3 going on more

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I started with one of these and wore it so much it seemed wise to get more. The first was an older version that was cut longer and had thumb holes. This version is cut a little shorter in comparison and does not have thumb holes. I'm pear shaped, and would usually prefer the new cut, but while they both work, I actually liked the previous one slightly better.

The bottom line though, is that this is a merino hoody you can, AND WILL, wear for almost everything in life, and it won't stink.

I have used this for many purposes including biking and jogging in cool early spring temps, sitting on the couch, sitting in a yurt, camping, travel (hello! No stink merino! Perfect travel hoody), every day wear (in fact I have worn a couple holes next to the ribbed cuff in my grey one, had to pull out the ol' sewing kit), and I work in a casual office, so I wear it to work constantly, I'm sure my co-workers are bored of it by now, have also used this as a layer for ski touring, as a layer for post-skiing or biking depending on the season...

And it looks like an everyday normal hoody. i.e. not some skrink-wrap-too-slim-active-wear layer.

I'm 5'5", 175lbs, and pear shaped- I got the XL.

One small note of caution on the Cognac color though... it is not as purple as it looks on screen. It is almost black. Maybe closer to a midnight navy, but pretty much black. It was close enough to black that I returned it, as I already have a black one and was looking for something different.

Really great hoody

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

I am 5 10 and 150lbs and the XL is a perfect fit on me. Normally I am not an XL in much of anything but this runs slim but not short. Nice light/ medium weight french terry material. An all purpose garment and looks well made. I got it in the light gray which is just like the typical sweatshirt gray.

Awesome hoodie for tall gals!

I bought the gray hoodie in XL (6'0", 175, pear-shaped, 32" waist, 41" hips) and Large to compare the two sizes. The XL is a better fit overall, for length of sleeves and torso for me. The jacket hits about mid-rear for me, though it's a little tight there so it's most comfortable just above that. Still, I'm insanely excited to find a wool piece long enough for my crazy long arms. I can use the thumbholes fine, though it's maybe a bit more comfy for me not to. Overall, the jacket is super soft, super stretchy, and fairly fitted everywhere for me, except right around the waist. That's pretty typical for me, though. If I can finish losing the rest of this baby weight, I think it'll loosen around the hips more and be absolutely perfect. The large was just a bit too snug (though I usually wear a large in "regular" clothing) and too short overall.

The hood is fine if I don't have a pony-tail in...if I do it doesn't work well--it just fits with my hair down. The pockets are perfect for me, though I've read reviews of other (shorter) people claiming they were cut too low in the torso for comfort. They're nice, big pockets, and the zipper stuck a little at first but has loosened up well. I wish it wasn't so much $$ or I'd buy one in every color!! I've worn it twice shopping with a tank top and light-weight sweatshirt underneath, and haven't been cold while outside (25-30 degrees, windy Wisconsin weather), and was actually too warm in the stores. Half the bulk of a jacket that would be the equivalent for warmth, will be great to pack for trips back home for Christmas!
