BodyFit260 Slalom 1/4-Zip Top - Men's

Don’t let your neck take on the brunt of winter when you ski; the Icebreaker Men’s BodyFit260 Slalom Top has a high zipped collar that you can wear up when the snow is falling sideways. Wear the collar zipped down or zipped and folded over when you don’t need quite so much coverage. This long-sleeve, merino wool underwear top helps you stay warm and dry while you wait to race, while you speed between the gates, and while stand around waiting for the final results.

Bottom Line: Adjust to conditions on the mountain.

Really Nice

I have quite a bit of performance wool items and this is my heaviest weight so far and I really like the added weight and warmth this top provides. Layered on top of my Icebreaker 200 weight base layer it provides the perfect insulation when topped off by my technical ski shell, yet without any of the unwanted bulk. Fabric is really nice and looks great too.

Wide Range of Temps

Oh my do I love this shirt! I normally have some form of underlayer that I pair with it. When it's warm out (up to say 70) I have a synthetic short sleeve under it, and in cooler temperatures (down to 20) I wear an Icebreaker Oasis 200 under it. I've worn this top in the winter under a jacket while riding my bike. I've worn this top chilling around a campfire in the Fall. I've worn this top on cool spring runs. Heck I've worn this top to work (suck it business casual!) The 260 weight just gives a huge range of temperatures in which to wear this top. I'm 6'1 185 and the Large is perfect--PERFECT! Merino wool is the bomb, and if I had the money I'd pay full price for it, but I was able to grab it on a sale.

almost perfect

Awesome shirt. I actually like the way it looks and feels so much that I hate to wear it out on the mountain. I wear it to work, dinner, etc. But seriously, it's a perfect base layer for skiing/boarding. I wear a wicking t-shirt, then this, then shell. That covers me for 90% of New England ski days. It was enough weight that it doesn't have the cold, thin feel of many other mid-layers.

The only design flaw: It has thumb holes but only regular length sleeves. So if you use the thumb holes it tends to pull awkwardly on your shoulders. I end up using the thumb holes strictly for pulling on my jacket.

I just got mine in today and I love it! It is super soft and keeps you just the right temperature. I would recommend it to anyone. You can wear it out on the town or as an excellent base layer on the mountain. it is truly a fantastic product. I am 5'11'' and muscular and the XL fits me like a dream! You won't regret it!

Awesome

amazing garment that will breathe when you need it to, but still keep you warm when the temperatures drop, can literally be worn for weeks without smelling, and it is remarkably soft up against your skin

as of about a month ago I own two of these, which is awesome because now I don't have to do laundry until spring
