Pull on your slim-fitting Icebreaker Women's BodyFit150 Leggings and a shell, and get on the trail. Whether you cross country ski in winter or climb a fourteener in summer, these merino wool Icebreaker long underwear bottoms don't let you get clammy or cold. Soft, non-itchy merino wool pulls perspiration away from your skin and works like a Thermos does to help you regulate your body temperature. An inseam gusset means these BodyFit150 Leggings move with you, and flatlock seams won't chafe.
Bottom Line: Play year round with the Icebreaker ultralight leggings as your base layer.
I love Icebreaker and love the idea of these leggings but they just didn't fit. It looks like the waist is cut at the same height in the front an the back, so if you have a little bootie like me they will slide off your backside and give you that lovely butt crack look. Not cool.
These are not really designed to be used for winter activities, more for shoulder season stuff. I wear them when camping as pajamas and they keep me super warm all night. They are also useful for higher altitude backpacking and hiking to take the chill off. For me, the fit is very flattering and true to the sizing chart as is the case with icebreaker products.

I also have the 260's (my primary layer) I bought these for spring conditions, and they worked well, definitely not warm enough for cool winter weather. Also, I'm not a fan of the fit. They are cut higher than the picture alludes, and the waist cuts in. The tag at the waist is also a problem, you cannot cut it out without having to re-sew the seam. (I tuck my shirt in to avoid the scratching.) Overall, a decent backup or base for multiple layers.
I this is my second pair. I enjoyed my first pair so much, but I just needed another (gained weight over summer!). Compared to other base layers I used to wear that were made with nylon or polyester, these Icebreakers perform so much better! I really like wearing these leggings under my insulated snowpants for snowboarding, when the temps are just below freezing. When the temps get super chilly and/there is a steady wind, another thin layer such as a thin polyester legging on top of these under your snow pants would be good, just to keep you toast on the lift. Normally I can't stand anything wool next to my skin (fair/sensitive skin) yet this merino wool is so different! It does not feel scratchy or prickly except maybe for just the first few seconds on me. What I do notice, (and am happy about) is that when I am sweaty from exertion the fabric does not get cold or clammy against my skin, yet my prior polyester leggings would for sure. One small complaint is the waistband digs in to my middle. I have a 31 waist and 39 hip and got the Medium (I am short too) so I did not fit the Med exactly so that may be why I end up with quite a red mark about the waist. Even so, I strongly feel that these leggings should have a wider waist elastic and/or be fabric-covered for more comfort. Note also: these 150's are not opaque enough to wear alone, in my opinion. Cover them up with additional pants/leggings when heading to the lodge for apres-ski!
These leggings fit beautifully, are a great base layer providing warmth yet not bulky. They are great for on or off the slopes when you just need to stay warm.
