Cotton can't hold a candle to the cool, smooth comfort and natural properites of the Icebreaker Men's BodyFit 150 Boxer Brief with Fly. Lightweight merino wool works like like an air conditioner in your pants while you run, hike, bike, or climb, and the boxer brief cut adds more length than briefs without going full boxer-length.

  • Merino wool naturally regulates your body temperature so you stay cool in the heat and warm when the sun goes down
  • Merino also naturally deals with odor so there's less stink and less laundry while you travel
  • 150 Fabric is ultralight so you'll barely feel it next to your skin
  • Contoured shape provides support at the crotch and the fly is fully functional for easy access
  • Elastic waistband keeps this boxer in place when you're on the move
  • Inseam measures 3.5 inches

Terrible... very disappointed!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Ordered these for my hikes, used them only a few times and after 3rd wash I noticed they were starting to develop holes along the stitching. Well after 4th wash they completely came apart. I wont be buying any more of the icebreaker products.

Sadly the Reviews are true

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these back in June for a trip this summer, and have been wearing them ever since. Shortly after buying them, though, holes quickly developed.

The first time I wore these boxer briefs, nothing could go wrong. The merino wool around your junk makes your day that much better. The holes themselves and minimal, but this shouldn't happen for boxer briefs of this cost.

Holes developed after around 4 days of use. These do tend to ride up more during use compared to other, synthetic brands (Patagonia).

Sadly the Reviews are true

I thought these would last longer than they did but I noticed this rip... it made me sad... they are good but they are a little too short and they ripped after a very short time, like 6 months and only used them for 3 adventures.

Treat Yourself

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

6 or so months ago my underwear quiver needed to be redone. I was stocked with holey, blown out, less than optimized cotton garments.

Since the upgrade to wool I've never been more comfortable in my pants. Fit is great, breathability is unreal and moisture management is pretty impressive. These are also proving to be more durable with little signs of wear and tear over 6 months.

Between comfort, durability, and performance the return on investment over your standard fruit bowl undies is unreal. Definitely worth every penny

Good but Not Great

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I love the merino and the qualities that wool carries and its great! My only complaint on these would be minimal riding up, not as much as all the other reviews say but some, and mainly that as briefs I wish they were a little longer on my thighs to prevent a little bit more chaffing from happening.

Tear easily

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pros: merino wool design dries quickly and does not carry an odor. solid waist seam.
Cons: both pairs I bought ripped (one tore at the fly when I pulled them on, and tore at the thigh - my finger somehow pierced it.) They also bunch in the rear.

Baa'aa'aa'aa'aa'd Get it? Like a sheep!

I have spent most of my adult life searching for the perfect boxer-brief. I have tried EVERYTHING. Ex-Officios, Under Armour, Lululemon, Smartwool, Icebreakers, Patagonia, Nike, & a few others. Of the aforementioned, Ex-Officios are my favorite, HOWEVER, they tend to lose a bit of elasticity throughout the day. Under Armour used to be my favorite, but they changed their design. Now they use a thicker material. They went from a great all-around boxer-brief to something that just feels like a compression short. Lululemon is nice but they have no fly! Plus, Lululemon boxer-briefs will pill, and if you are wearing a blue pair, you will have blue lint in your butt crack by the day?s end. Point is, I have spent too much $ trying to find the perfect pair of undies, and the search continues. Anyway, I digress.

These icebreakers are horrible. They bunch and ride like nothing I have ever experienced. Seriously, take one step and they will be up in your butt-crack like they own the place. I tried to wear these to work, and I got dirty looks from my co-workers all day because I could not stop adjusting. All. Damn. Day. I was pulling these out of my butt and trying to keep them on my thighs. It is so bad that I can?t even wear them to sleep. If I do, I wake up, as if from a fever-dream, thinking that my man-parts are being strangled (not in a good way).

I gave icebreaker the benefit of the doubt, and I even bought a second, smaller pair, figuring that they might not ride up if they were tighter. WRONG. Medium was as bad as large. Now I have two more pair of $20+ underwear that I will never wear.

I am going to give these two stars because they are INCREDIBLY soft. They are so soft that I would even say they are comfortable, IF, you are standing very still. I?m talking mannequin still. But as soon as you take one step, these damn boxer-briefs will be like an unwelcome house-guest in your butt.

Unless you enjoyed getting wedgies in middle school, don't buy these.

Worst Underwear Ever

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

These have got to be the worst designed underwear ever. They fit snugly, as a boxer brief should...but they wouldn't stop riding up the crack of my arse to save my life. They'd be horrible for $5/pair....at $40/pair, these are the worst design underwear ever.

I wish you had posted this before I bought mine.

Great boxer briefs!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just got these in today, but I wanted to share some initial thoughts.

Fit: I generally wear a 36 in mens pants/jeans. I ordered the size large, and they fit me great. Nice and secure around the waist, but not so tight that they are uncomfy. Plenty of room in the front. As well, they are tight enough to hug my legs, but not overly tight.

Feel: These things feel awesome! My synthetic undies (UA & ExO's) don't hold a match to these... There are a number of sewn in, rather large tags, but I can't feel them. These just feel great! I need to order some more.

Other than this, I cannot comment on them much just yet, but between the fits and feel, I am very confident in them. I am looking forward to using them and feel like I should get some more... :)

UPDATE:

After using these a few times, I have to rank them down to a 3 from a 5. Why? They bunch like crazy! I still feel like they are great undies as far as fit and feel, as well as construction , but for anything more than light use (such as everyday wear), I don't think that they will work for me, especially when hiking.

I will give them a few more tries though, just to be sure. If anything changes I will update this review...

I agree - these will spoil you...

Very comfortable, from day 1. No itch. Light, can't tell they're there. I've seen reviews on other sites where folks complain about the "high maintenance" required for these types of garments. I don't agree. All you have to do is make sure you don't dry them using heat, and wash in cold (or perhaps "cool"). Anyone who is an energy bug, or watching their pennies probably already washes in cold anyway. Hang to dry, and they're good to go. May as well say this goes for all other Icebreaker items I have been accumulating. High cost, yes. But wonderful feel, quality and to me, easy care.

They've spoiled me

I couldn't stop laughing bout Vincent's comment "The mother of all wedgies" below, but thankfully my experience was a bit better.
I tried these after hating a pair of Ex Officios. I wore them on a week long winter ski packing trip and was blown away, they never felt or smelled dirty, chafed or bunched up. I'm 170 lbs with a 32" waist and I was happy with the mediums.
Now I want to wear them all the time and need more pairs.
Cons: they're merino so I hang dry them... don't know what would happen if I forgot and put them in a hot dryer.
As with many things, made in China.

Get ready for a wedgie!

The mother of all wedgies. I had to just take them off and go free.

Keeps your marshmallows toasted

  • Gender: Male

These are an awesome pair of briefs for all occasions! Light enough to take a jog in, but a great first insulating layer for winter activities.
Waistband doesn't bother me at all and they always stay in place

Perfect

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

They regulate body heat perfectly and wick away moisture. You can wear them for days with no stink, and they never ride up. They are super soft, true to size, and have the perfect amount of support. The only annoyance I have is the tags on the waistband are a little rough.

Awesome!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

All I can say is I love this underwear. Very soft and never bunches up. Very easy to move around and breathes really well! A great piece to wear no matter what the weather conditions are.

I'm a full on convert to merino boxer briefs after wearing these.
