Pull on the Icebreaker Men’s Beast Apollo V-Neck Short-Sleeve T-Shirt and bathe in the warmth of lightweight merino wool. Sleep and lounge in cozy Icebreaker comfort knowing that merino wool feels soft against the skin and repels any odor you can throw at it. The Icebreaker Beast Apollo V-Neck T-Shirt’s side and shoulder seams sit slightly forward to prevent chaffing.
Bottom Line: Look, Apollo, we get it. You’re a god, you have a buff chest, blah blah blah. Now put on a shirt!
Breathes well in warm weather, good baselayer when cooler. No stink. I am 6'2" - 190Lbs with 44" chest and large fits close to body & comfortable. If you do not like a close fit, size up. This shirt is not as close fiting as bodyfit line, which I buy in an xl
I wanted a nice light shirt for summertime hiking and was very skeptical to try wool. After reading nothing but great reviews i decided to give it a shot. I have worn this shirt for two weeks now without washing it (mostly casual wear) and it doesn't stink at all. This shirt is tighter than your average shirt. I sized up and got a large (6'160lbs.) and for what i wanted it is perfect. If you are using this exclusively as a baselayer get your regular size. I love the way it's sewn, i have got many compliments on mine and tons of people are asking me where they can get one. I have had this shirt about three weeks and have already ordered another icebreaker shirt.

Purchased this shirt mainly for casual use. Used it on a trip to Ghana (Africa) the other month. When i travel from Norway (it was -10 celsius/15 farenheit) i had it as a bayselayer under my shell jacket. When arriving in Accra (Capital in Ghana) it was very hot (35-40 celsius/95-105 farenheit). I just took off the shell jacket and used the shirt all day long in the city. Bringing out the sweat and keeping me cool all day long without any bad smell :) Just love this shirt.
Three reasons this garment is worth the price: 1. No stink - you could wear this for a few weeks and never know it didn't come right out of the laundry. 2. The fit - nice and tight, very performance oriented cut. It looks great under a button down and all by itself. You get so much value out of this shirt because you can wear it with anything, rock it just with jeans, or lounge around in it at home. Plus, since you don't have to wait for it to make it out of the hamper, you get that much more wear out of it. Hands-down a terrific value. 3. The length - nice and long, even on me (I'm 6'5"). Long enough that I can tuck it in and it will stay put. Also, when I wear the shirt by itself, I don't have to worry about it coming up too short.
It easy to see why these have almost sold out. One last thought - even though it's a thin, fine grade of wool, it's very warm and will keep you toasty even by itself.
The only reason why I do not give 5 stars is becuase my shirt was mis-sewn - the seams are not symmetrical and it bugs the hell out of me. It just wears funny, plus it doesn't look as nice.
To me it was adequate for the job until it got stolen ... so... yeah.. hahha.. it is very athletic-fitting shirt. The only thing i have when comparing items is the arc'teryx merino whool long sleeve and let me tell you this one is very itchy to my taste... if you don't mind paying extra and the long sleeves get the other instead this is just too itchy.
If you like stuff thats form fitting then this is for you. The shirt is rather long which is nice so that your belly doesn't show when you reach up for things. Also I think that the wool is fine enough that it doesn't bother the skin. I've heard that the white isn't good as its a little see through but I wouldn't recommend the dark for very hot days.
The shirt is very soft and comfortable. I bought a small and find the fit around the shoulders to be snug but not restrictive. The shirt is looser around the sides.
I like everything about it except for the color. The bone-colored one I got is too translucent for me, and I'm a fair skinned Asian. I'm going to exchange the shirt for a jet-colored one. If you prefer something less revealing, go for the darker colors--jet or stone.
Icebreaker is already known for awesome gear - and their Beast collection is no exception. Merino wool is brilliant; keeps you warm even when wet, stays odor free for days on end and in 150 weight is unbelievably soft. Remember though that they are performance fit, so if you don't want it to tight get a size up.
I picked up this shirt to wear as an "undershirt" or for hikes. I have received so many positive comments on it and it is so comfortable that I ordered two more (one in each color) and I wear them regularly for every type of activity. The wool is soft and comfortable and resists orders. I am 6'2" and thin and the large is a well-cut fitted style. I really dig the fit...it looks like a custom T. It can be completely casual or can even be fairly dressy for a night on the town. Solid all around shirt!
