The activewear Gods have smiled upon you. With the Icebreaker Men’s Short-Sleeve Beast Apollo Crewe T-Shirt as your next-to-skin layer, you’ll enjoy a smooth, insulated, and dry sensation beyond that experienced by most mortals after a long sweaty day outside. Wear the soft merino Apollo Crewe Shirt under your ski layers, on a spring hike, or an August afternoon of climbing granite walls.
Bottom Line: Poor clammy humans. They’ll never know the comfort of Apollo.
The fit of the beast line is spot on. Being long and lean it can be tough to find a shirt that fits properly. I am a merino whore and this is my new favorite shirt. Not as tight as bodyfit but tighter than the standard fit, this is perfect for everything except as a tight baselayer. I'm six foot tall and weigh 165 and this shirt fits perfectly.
FYI: In the current pic is the new version of the shirt (no tag on back of neck) This shirt will have a tag which is unfortunately the part that will tear first. This is easily remedied by taking the tag off.
I love the feel of this shirt!! It fits great too. I am 6'2" with a small frame, so i usually have to comprimise between having shirts too short or too baggy but the small was long enough for me.
I purchased the bone color as well and it is a little see through.
the color combination shows the color of the fabric (bone, jet, stone) and then the out-of-site details, like the print on the inside of the shirt (navy, red, whatever)

super comfy, very slim, the "stone" color looks sharp. the "bone" (white) color is pretty sheer/see-through, so best used as an undershirt mostly. i have two of these know and would have more if people stocked them. wish places could keep them in stock--esp. in size small.
yeah, the bone color is very much see-through. i just got "stone" and it is not see-through at all. size is true. if you are between sizes, size down--the athletic cut is not flattering when its baggy. the fabric is great
The black and grey ones should be dark enough for single layer casual wear. I've got the grey one and I wouldn't call it translucent. The white-ish one (Bone I think) may prove to be problematic for you though. Go for a darker colour if you're concerned.
This shirt functions perfectly as a casual around-town T-shirt. However, make sure to size up one if you do so! I fill out Gildan/Hanes T-shirts in a medium pretty well and the Apollo in Large fits dang near exactly the same.
The shirt is tapered, so it's well-suited for guys who an athletic build (that V-taper).
may not be good for you. I'm sure it's not just mine, but the shirt is tapered around the waist. My chest is bigger than my waist, so it fits me perfectly. And it's every bit as comfortable as the previous Icebreakers I've bought in years past. The material seems thin, but I've worn several of them for years and only moths have worn holes in them. They are of a slim-fit, also.
ok im still wearing it. and its great. very nice fitted mid bicep on the sleeve maybe a bit higher on some people. the tags.. so cool u can trace your wool and where it came from. your flappy tags so typically in the collar are in a convient spot on the left ribs inside and on the right ribs outside is a subtle short but wide icebreaker tag. the stitching is quite flattering and all in all im gonna get alot of life out of this 60 dollar shirt. i might even order a few more with my coupons.
This is a nice shirt. It's pretty lightweight and and has a very nice athletic fit. I'm 5'10'', 150, with a 38'' chest and a medium fits perfectly. It's a little longer than most shirts, but looks normal enough. It's not very scratchy. I tried it out on a six day trip in hot weather and sweat on it like a pig. I washed it in a creek a few times and it didn't smell at all.
This is my go-to shirt, for exercising, hanging out, and especially as an undershirt. Warm on cold days but breathable on the hot days to keep your perspiration evaporating. I've worn it on approx 12 occasions while I got pretty sweaty on each occasion, I have yet to wash it, and it hasn't picked up any odor yet.
I only buy Icebreaker whenever I can. The product is the best! Doesn't stink, easily layers, lightweight. I travel for a living and there is no better product then this.
Like every Icebreaker item I own, this shirt is great. I use it as an undershirt with dress shirts to help stay cool when an undershirt is necessary and it's hot outside.
