Life can be a sweaty affair. Stifling-hot on the airplane, stuck-in-traffic hot on the freeway, not to mention the more easily anticipated means of sweating, such as hiking, backpacking, and running. Luckily for you (and the people next to you), there’s the Ibex Woolies Shirt. This shirt uses soft, lightweight merino wool to naturally block odor and handle moisture. Plus this tee doesn’t get wrinkly when you travel.

Very nice

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size
  • Height: 6'0"
    Weight: 165 lbs
    Size Purchased: Large

Very nice shirt that I use under my uniform in both summer and winter. Has a really nice athletic cut. I have about a 40 inch chest and 34 waist, and the Large fit me nice.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

Great shirt - SNUG fit, great for cold days or hot days. Looks really nice on!! I recommend going a size up due to the slim fit.

Great shirt

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:Runs small
  • Height: 6'4"
    Weight: 215 lbs
    Size Purchased: XL

My other hiking shirts got way too smelly after the first day, so I decided to give these a try. They are super comfortable, snug fit and dry fairly quickly. I only wish they still had them in brighter colors.

Do these shirts run true to size? I'm...

Do these shirts run true to size? I'm normally a Large and wonder if I can fit a XL?

These are a slim fit, and run small, so you should be good in an XL.

Picked up a couple of Woolies on SAC a while back. I love merino, so I wanted to give them a shot. They stand up very well with the other options out there. As with most merino pieces, they will keep you warm when wet, will insulate very well as a layering system, and are very soft to the touch. Great piece.

    Weird fit, decent shirt

So this shirt has an odd fit... it's tight like a form fitting atheletic shirt, but the sleeves come down pretty far... like almost to my elbow. It looks a bit odd and I doubt I'd ever wear it by itself because of this. It's a bit scratchy despite a few washes and me air drying it. Not sure why, I'm sure it will feel better after a few more. This is a pretty solid shirt functionally though, I used it as a base layer under a Paclite Gore tex OR jacket and I was comfortable from the upper 50's up to the mid 60's before I had to vent the jacket. Pretty pleased.

      Love this shirt

I have 2 of these. One in black and the stone grey. They fit amazingly well and are very comfortable. They are also very versatile as you can dress them up or down depending on the need or occasion. I am 5'9" and 145 pounds.

        Fantastic piece

I wore it for 7 days straight on a ski trip, under a patagonia L/S merino and it was perfect. No chafing, stickiness or smell. Kept me warm and dry. I couldn't ask for more, I'll probably get another!

It's a slim fit, I'm 5'11" 170lbs with a 41"chest and 32" waist and the large fit me well without being too tight. I could've gone down a size for a more form fitted piece but I preferred the large, it wasn't baggy but wasn't tight either.

I know these wick well, but how well do...

I know these wick well, but how well do they block the sun, if at all?

          is there an spf rating?

supposedly they block the sun fine and you wont need sunblock underneath, but there is no spf rating provided on Ibex's website.

          This is a keeper

My husband wore this out in Colorado last week. He said he wore it everywhere and it rocks. Base layer on the slopes and out at night. He did comment that it does smell a little if you're sweaty. But he rinsed the armpits and it wore well.

Own three Ibex products including this shirt that I have. great piece for trailrunning - more you wear it, softer it gets. Never smells, fits great, regulates temps great, holds up a long time. Hands down better than any of the tech shirts I have for cooler spring/fall/winter running.

I have an Ibex that's about three years old. Short sleeve in blck and grey (the grey is under the arms and kind of down the sides) am looking to replace or add to.

The Woolies is a good option. Also check out the Icebreaker Tech T. It's a very nice piece.

This one is definitely a great option, or check out the U-Sixty T, which is a little bit more of a relaxed fit, but same fabric weight.

Fits well, performs well, feels great, and it looks good.

            I like It

I like this shirt. I own an Icebreaker that is the same weight. It fell apart so I needed a replacement. I like this shirt because it is tough for the weight. It is very form fitting. One warning, It has an unduly tight collar.
