Ibex Woolies Rib Zip T-Neck - Men's - 2005 BCS

I recently learned about Ibex a few months ago and they have a lot of cool stuff. They're a small VT company and you have to love that (nothing like a good cheddar). Anyway, this shirt is fantastic. It's light, stretchy, non-itchy, and, yes, doesn't get stanky nearly as badly as most synthetics. Given, if you smell really bad (like me), it may not help too much. I definitely recommend this top if you want a warm, comfortable baselayer for cool weather aerobic activities, such as chasing after the dog that got loose or ultimate frisbee through snow drifts.

There's no going back to stinky synthetics after you've worn the real thing, Merino wool. While I had heard plenty of good things about the stuff, I was still amazed by the natural combination of next-to-skin comfort, temperature regulation (dry OR wet), wicking, and "quietness" (shhh!) It's not the softest or the cheapest, but it performs like nothing else. And it's eco-friendly! Care is simple enough: machine wash, lay flat to dry. Five unreserved stars!

I just had a weeks skiing through the Alps and am pleased with the top. The material is comfortable next to the skin and the high neck with a long zip makes temperature control easy. It also never stank despite constant use, unlike my friends man-made base layers!
It should, however, be longer as it was easily pulled up at the back. Thumb holes on the cuffs would also make this a more versatile top.
