I am looking for long underwear pants/top...
I am looking for long underwear pants/top to fit my 6'4" 165-170lbs frame.
I usually wear a 32x35 pant and I have semi broad shoulders ~40 chest w/ a 35 sleeve.
Is there any brand/model that will fit a tall/slim person?
Joey-- we must be twins separated at birth. Your measurements are mine to a tee. For lightweight (but very warm) long underwear I wear Ibex's Woolies Zip-T tops in a size large. The sleeves are long (35-36") and the garmet is form-fitting. No cold spots due to excess material- these tops are form-fitting and very warm. You will love it. I have 3 of them. For bottoms I wear their woolies bottoms in a Med (29" inseam) for a snugger fit. You could go with the large (29.5" inseam). For heavy-weight long underwear I'd look for garments made with Polartec Power Stretch. Marmot makes great power stretch tops (size large with 35-36" sleeves). The power stretch tops make a perfect 2nd layer over the Ibex zip-Tee. I wear these two items all winter and am toasty every day. Hope that helps.
Icebreaker Body Fit 150 vs. These
Icebreaker Body Fit 150 vs. These
Does anyone have any kind of idea how these compare to the Icebreaker Body Fit 150?? I think that the Icebreakers are a little lighter, but I have no idea on the durability of either one. I am looking for my first pair of wool base layers, and these two are at the top of my list. With them both being priced at $60 right now, I wanted to see if anyone out there could give me some ideas on which way to go.
Thanks for your help!!
I have both. I think that the Icebreakers are cut a little bigger, actually. I bought a small in the Icebreakers and a medium in the Ibex. (I am 5'11", 155). The Ibex legs are slimmer, so the medium was more comfortable. I think that you would be happy with either of them although if I had to pick one, I might go with the Icebreakers by a tiny margin.
Eric, thank you very much for your help!! That was exactly the info I was looking for. The Icebreakers being a little bigger should fit me better, so I will pick up a pair of those. Thank you again!
Light and Warm
Can't go wrong with these super light and amazingly warm. Also, soft and ordorless, Ibex has outdone themselves with these. Tested in below zero fahrenheit temperatures.

I am 5'9" 175 pounds. What size Whoolies bottoms would be best?
I'm 5'7" 140 and the smalls are a bit tight on the waist and a tad long on the leg. So i would probably suggest a medium for you. Hope this helps, I know its a few months late for you but i couldn't see a question go unanswered on backcountry.
Essential base layer...
Had such great success with the Ibex Woolies top over the last 3 years that I had to get the bottoms to match! Great warmth and comfort, minimal bulk. Excellent performance over a wide temperature range. Easy care. No pilling or odor between washings. Have tried smartwool and never been as satisfied as with Ibex. Worth the extra $$ over synthetics!
These things handle odor better than any synthetics I've ever used. They are infintiely comfortable and wick heat and moisture away superbly. I use these for ice climbing, skiing and winter backpacking. It's my go-to baselayer. Buy it!
