Shak Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

The Men’s Shak Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt sits at the top of the Ibex mountain. 21-micron dense knit New Zealand Merino wool is all but indestructible and it doesn’t get any better than a Shak with a hood. Thumbholes on your sleeves allow you to slip your hands back into warm protection from the elements when the time comes. Flatlock seams won’t cause you any irritation in your outdoor pursuits and rest assured that you won’t lose your keys when they’re tucked into the zippered chest pocket.

Bottom Line: Shak up with merino durability, comfort, and warmth.

Ibex delivers

This was my first Ibex garment and I'm more than impressed. I live in southeast Louisiana where the fall and winter seasons are cool and damp. The Shak Full-Zip is great for post-workout layering and I love the sleek, athletic fit. I'm not sure if I'll use the thumb holes, but they're there if I need them. I have really sensitive skin and I've had zero issues with the Merino wool itching. Two-thumbs up for the Ibex Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt..if I had a third thumb, I'd give it a three.

Just the chest pocket, makes it easier to layer that way.

MUST BUY, AWESOME PRODUCT

Extremely warm and comfortable. Fits snug and looks great. I am six feet tall and 185 pounds and the medium fits well. Could probably get a large, but medium fits well if you don't mind the snug fit. I wear a merino wool lightweight base layer under this wonderful Ibex product on days when the temp is around 0 degrees C. I stay warm and comfortable. When the wind picks up I put on a wind jacket!
Must have for any outdoor enthusiasts or even for casual wear. Also comes with all the perks of Merino Wool, you really can't go wrong with this!
Buy it!

The hoodie at backcountry.com seems to have much more of an athletic cut!

Same hoody, just how the picture is taken. The altrec photo is flat, and this is how it would look filled out.

great all purpose piece

By:

usually not a huge fan of hoods on a piece, but this hood is contoured and not baggy so it WILL stay on regardless of what you're doing. it's an extremely warm, light piece w/ thumbholes. be aware that it does have a slim fit. i'm 5'8 155lbs and the small is a bit snug...

I have the same question - I have a Woolies too and the medium fits me quite snug. Anyone wanna chime in how the Shak Hoody fits compared to other Ibex stuff?

Buy this sweater!

I am 6'3, 195--size L fits perfect--no bulk around the body, doesn't expose the belly when I lift my arms over my head, and the snug fitting hood provides a nice option in cold conditions. The arm length is spot on--the hobo sleeves fit over my knuckles when I use the thumb holes. The weight is really nice--I wore it comfortably doing moderate activity at 20 deg F with only a mid-weight under layer. It is also dense enough to cut a significant amount of wind. The workmanship is impeccable.
