For freezing Scandinavian winters or cold days anywhere else, the Ibex Norse Crew is an entire boatload of loyal Viking warriors to… Wait, no, it's a versatile, midweight 18.5 Micron merino wool base layer. We confuse the two all the time. Flatlock seams make this form-fitting top comfy under other layers, and Merino wool gives you the best warmth, breathability and odor resistance you can get.
Bottom Line: Umlauting optional.

Excellent warmth for such a thin shirt

This baselayer offers excellent warmth, even though upon inspection it appears to be very thin; quite frankly, I was a bit skeptical that it would even make a difference, I was wrong. I ended up not even needing a jacket wearing this, and it's very comfortable too. The only thing is that it requires a special mild detergent, they recommend Ivory snow, I figure some woolite would do. So you may want to go get some of this before you order just so you don't have to wait to wash it.

The Norse is THE shirt to wear anytime the outside temperature is below, oh, about 60F. Inside or out. Comfy, stretchy, and you can wear it for a week without laundering (but don't tell anyone!)
These shirts wear like iron. I have several, and they are just about the only base layer or shirt that I wear from October to May.
