Really love Ibex

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

I really love this hoodie. If you want to wear it over other items, size up. The design is so thoughtful, flat lock seams, so no irritation, thumb holes, so no ride up, cool color, well so you like the way it looks. Breathes well. Really perfect for Spring and Summer. I have only worn this hoodie a few times, but I have a lot of ibex stuff, so I based my expectations of durability on those items. I have only had one problem with an Ibex item, and they sent me a brand new one. Cannot ask for more than that.

Perfect hoodie

A performance shirt that keeps you cool in spring, warm in fall and layers well in winter. Runs small, so I wouldn't wear it casually. But it's aces on the trail.

Comes highly recommended, but sizing up!

This top came highly recommended by a girlfriend of mine, that takes it everywhere - rock climbing, backpacking,...and said "it just got better with use", her favorite piece! With that, I can see all the uses for this thin Hoodie for my outdoor adventures. Ordered a size XS, 5'2, 110 lbs, broad shoulders , but not busty. It fit kinda tight across chest, and length was a bit shorter than desired. Returned, and will try the Small...stay tuned for update!

Too short for my liking

The fabric and quality of this base layer seem very good, but I didn't get a chance to take it out for a spin. I am returning this product because I prefer shirts that aren't as short. The overall fit was good, but the top only fell slightly below my waist - when I'm skiing I definitely don't want to get snow down the back of my pants! I would not recommend this product for anyone who likes longer fitting base layers.

love it love it love it

My first Indie Top is still my only Indie Top, because I love it too much to cheat on it. I got it in red and it has led me through crazy train trips in Asia, sightseeing in the Alps, and early spring rains on my local running trails. Everybody should have one within arm's reach.

FYI, I'm pretty slim, and the M fit me just right. If you're a bit bigger in the chest/shoulders, try sizing up, especially if you want to wear heavier layers underneath.

I love the logo!!!

I am in love with these wool shirts. I am amazed how they do not hold odors & how easy to wash out drips & dirt. The temperature regulating from hot to cold is wonderful. This particular one is heavier & very stylish & practical. I am happy with it. The little goat logo in the back has won my heart, too! I'll get more of these!!

    So great I bought 2!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Fantastic lighter weight wool. Wore over a wool tshirt to watch a rainy cold xc meet. Wore by itself to a sunny cold meet. Nice and easy to run in and keep up with the action. And so cute! Runs a bit bigger than other ibex tops I have. I'm 5' 105 and got XS

Love this top. I have the Ebony Marle Heather. Works great and quite light. I've worn it hiking Mt Whitney, climbing, and to work. Goes relly well with jeans or a scirt. I get a ton of complements every time I wear it. Breathes really well. Wool really has the best performance. Great for layering. I love that I can wear it out or while doing some serious activity. I want a second one!

Ibex Hoodie - pretty dang good

Perfect base layer. A teeeensy bit itchy at first, but after a couple of washes it's plenty soft. Non-stinky and cut perfectly to do the job and be flattering at the same time. Love the thumb holes. The neck could come up a little bit higher so I could hide my chin when I put my hood up, but it is otherwise the perfect base layer. I will use it until it breaks.

        A warm, cute, functional baselayer

I had high expectations for this hooded base layer, and it happily delivered. The Idex Indie Hoodie is a warm, efficient baselayer. It’s the kind of baselayer you wear out on a cold day in the mountains and then come home and wish you had a second one to curl up in post-climb. It has a looser fit which is perfect for layering over another lighter baselayer. The comfy shirt is lighter and less bulky than fleece but quite warm. It has done a great job as part of my layering system to keep me warm on cold days seracing on Mt. Baker. Love the half zip feature for venting or zipping it all the way up for extra warmth. I'm also a big fan of the thumb holes. Also, it's hood is ACTUALLY functional. Many hoodies that have so much promise fall short on a functional hood. Not the Ibex Indie, it shines here. The hood is constructed so that it fits well fully zipped up around the head. It extends far enough to cover enough of the forehead, zips up to underneath the chip, but is flexible enough for full range of movement when in full hoodie mode. This is a bomber baselayer.

          Hullo Backcountry,

I'm looking at ther womens ibex hooded indie. The advertised colours are raspberry violet, dim sapphire and lagoon. I went onto the Ibex website to see what these colours are as your website is not showing them. However the colour I am interested in is the light grey which is shown on your "detail pics". Do you have the light grey ? And could you please reply back to

, not the email address that I am sending you the question from.
