On a mission to develop a ridiculously versatile mountain bike tire, Hutchinson designed the Barracuda's high-traction, mud-shedding, and ultra-fast traction profile. Not only does this tire help you rail corners at speed and keep going during rainy rides, it also won't make you feel like you're dragging an extra rider during climbs. Dual-compound rubber provides decreased rolling resistance on the middle tread and tons of grip on the outside knobs.

For that kind of terrain, something knobbly is good. If it's smooth fast dirt, you want less space between the knobs because extra knobbly tires sacrifice speed, but steep rocky stuff will need wider spaced knobs for traction.

I like the way these tires roll and they grip decently well. Not as well as I would like for my single speed. They seem to wear pretty fast if you are riding on the road a-lot but that is to be expected.
