Dreamy to wear

  • Gender:Female
  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I wasn?t at all sure about these (because of the length) when I first got them but the fabric is incredible and they feel like nothing on. Despite the length, they don?t chafe or annoy me when running. Sold out in my size now but if they bring them back for another year I will buy lots more pairs (and anything else they make in this fabric).

not sure what they want to be.

Houdini managed a funny one here. I wanted a short for obstacle racing. I'm 5'7, 140 lbs, got a Large. The waist rests lightly and is perfect. Except it rests on my hips, where I like my shorts, but the rise is really long, so the crotch hangs down.

The fabric is light and airy and very smooth, so light that it flows over and clings to every imperfection (that little padding on the side of my hip? yeah...), as well as the outline of the mesh pockets in the front. odd. They are really comfortable, though. I find them pretty baggy, not flattering at all, but I'm trying to decide if I care...

    Houdini trail running shorts

I agree with the other reviews; the shorts are top of the line, but they are a bit long - for shorter people, they look a little geeky, but looks aren't as important as performance out on a hot, muddy trail. They are expensive, but the quality is so good that I will be looking at a Houdini shirt next.

      Great Trail Running Short!

This short is long, which is exactly what I have been looking for. I happen to be short (5'2") and the short comes down to the top of my knee. Excellent quality product from Sweden. Shorts are lightweight, comfortable, and not too baggy for me. Waistband is super comfortable. Pockets are mesh and if unzipped, provide great air vents. My only complaint is that the shorts are pricey.

        Pamper your butt

Agree with the other reviewer, the fabric feels really really nice. It does fit long which is very nice for trail running. But it's absolutely not baggy, as it hugs my hip and legs extremely well, and I'm 110 LB 5'6". I am a trail runner and own 5-6 pairs of running shorts from brands such as Patagonia, Salomon, and Pearl Izumi, and the Houdinis are my most favorite. Compared to Patagonia Nine Trails shorts, the Houdinis is made sooooooooo much better at the waist - it's flat compared to Pati's super bulky waist. The fabric is also stretchy, so absolutely no problems going up at steep grades. I love the pockets, they are lined with mesh. The white stripes on the sides in the picture are reflective, and are a nice touch. I love Houdini and have several other of their fleece. As with all their stuff, these shorts are made in the European Union, and the quality really shows. I think they are worth the money, but would like to see them a little less spendy - they cost twice as the "Pata-guchi" shorts.

Just want to add one more feature I found. There is a small key attachment at the bottom of right pocket. Not obvious at all, but nice, very useful.

          Kinda strange

These shorts are a bit odd. The fabric is nice and light but the fit is very long and baggy. Not flattering. These might work on a taller gal, but it swallows up my 5'3 105 pound frame. Back they go!
