Got this hoodie about a year ago (last year's light grey color), and it is still one of my favorite essentials in my pack. The fit is great (ordered a small - 5'4" athletic. It is nice and long, plenty of movement in it. The hood is nice and big, and can close down around your face. The sleeves are long and that helps to make the thumb holes extremely usable. The fleece is nice and soft, and has stayed that way after many washes (no dryer). It is warm, and works great under a windproof/waterproof shell. It is relatively lightweight, and not as bulky as some fleeces - pretty packable. I would consider ordering another - it has held up great under constant use. There is some pilling, where velcro has snagged it, other wise perfect!

I've been anxiously anticipating this hoody for quite a while. I first got the 'clean cut red' color, but decided to exchange it, due to the color and fit. The fit is long and a bit boxy, a bit larger than their Eco Lounge Hoody. I usually wear xs or sm, depending on brand, and for Houdini's Eco Lounge Hoody, small fits me perfectly, but for the Power Houdi, I needed to go down a size. It's not very tailored, so if you have a hourglass shaped body, it will not compliment your figure. The 'clean cut red' is a somewhat pale red color, not very vibrant, although I really love the hood liner color, which has a stripy red pattern. I exchanged it for an xs in 'granite' and I love it. The zipper is red, which makes the hoody look very stylish. Unfortunately the hood liner doesn't have the stripe pattern, but it's red nonetheless, and it shows a lot of contrast with granite body. The hoody is made of Polartec Power Stretch, I expect it to be a mid weight layering piece. I'll report back with the functional aspect once I've had a chance to use it in non-casual situations.
It is hard to..

It is hard to review the "Women's" Power Houdi Fleece jacket when a "Men's" Power Houdi Fleece arrived.
So after paying out of pocket for the shipping and handling + tariffs to send it back. You tell me that I have made the mistake you do not carry mens versions of that item. However the label written and item has "Men" clearly on it.
The item I purchased on sale including the return shipping has saved me no money, no time, and overall just given me one big headache.
So as a first time customer with Backcountry, I think it will be my last.

I just received this jacket. Its very lightweight, super soft and really warm. I'm always cold and I love this jacket. I usually take a small or medium, size 4-6. I ordered this in a medium and it fits perfectly.
Best ever

I bought this houdini in Sweden, had it on the whole winter under my shell jacket, and I didnt freeze. Had it on during cold days in Kansas and wearing it today in Canada. Its the best fleece I ever had. My brother working as a ski instructor also has one and I bought one for my dad in christmas present. Have had different kind of fleece but this is absolutely the BEST!!
LOVE IT!!!

Probably the only hoodie you will ever need! I bought this in sweden during my last trip and got a stunning dark purple color that should come out here in the US soon. Anyway, the fit is amazing, not too snug yet not bulky. The fleece material is so comfortable that I never want to take it off. The jacket has 2 zip pockets as well as drawstring cord at the bottom. I use this hoodie when I go out rock-climbing (which is what the company actually designed it for)....I love the freedom and mover ability I have in it.
The black color as well as the dark green and the blue is also stunning! They are true to size which makes it easy in regards of fitting

Got this jacket (XS size) in the mail today and was a bit disappointed with the colour and fit. The actual colour is not as green as in the image. Rather it's more like a pale pastal light green. A bit too pale for me. The sleeves are quite long too (although I believe this might be a design feature and intentional). The length of the body is also quite long (the waist sits below my hip bone). Also the cut is slightly loose. But I am 147cm tall (short) and 46kg. So I probably fall below average for small!
I also bought the Houdini Transit Lounge Hoody which I love. The colour is true to life. This product might have the same cut as the Power Hoody but it seems to be more slim fitting. It could be that the material is lighter/ thinner. I love the button detail and hood design too!
These two products from Houdini give me the impression that their sizing is slightly on the larger size. So if you generally buy XS in other brands, like me, then I would be hesitant to buy a Houdini product in XS because it will most likely be less fitted then what you're used to.
I also bought a Marmot Power stretch hoody (in blue). Which is totally ace! I love this jacket and put it on immediately. The colour in the photo is true to life. Also, the fit is better than the Houdini products. The XS is ideal for me. It sits at my hip bone and the arm length is right. It might be that Marmot have a slightly different sizing system that fits my body shape.

The reason the arms and the length of the hoodie is a bit longer than normal is because this jacket is designed for rock climbing which means that when your hands are above your head the jacket won't be to short on you.
