It stretches well but I would still go with a medium. This stuff tends to run on the small side.

A comfy, fun shirt for casual wear. I normally wear a medium, which is what I purchased. The shirt runs a little on the larger side, so might have been able to fit into a small size OK. But still very happy with the quality and style of the shirt.
