Va-va-voom!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

First things first - Horny Toad product runs large. So I bought an XS - and it's perfect. This dress is definitely one of my go to throw on fall dresses. The material is light weight, soft and cozy. Also! It's one of the easiest dresses for me to pack - barely wrinkles. I love the fit - it's sassy, sort of salsa-esque! And the V-neck is very flattering on all body types. A handful of my friends have borrowed this dress and it looks lovely on every single one of them! I'm about 115 lbs 34B chest and the dress is a little loose but mostly fitted. Hits right (literally right) below the knee on me! I definitely wish I had this dress in black, too..

Runs large

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

I love Horny Toad dresses and in size medium they usually fit me perfectly. This one was loose and unflattering with the sleeves being way too long - I have long arms - and I would definitely need a small. I am 5'8 and 135lbs with curvy hips. Debating on returning or taking my chance with a small.

Completely unflattering

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

5'1", 110 lb, could lose some inches around the middle, but I didn't think it was too bad... until this dress came along. Thin material, somehow sticks to the middle and amplifies every single imperfection. It immediately went back.

Awesome in Deep Ruby

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I was looking for a good fall/winter dress that I could wear with tights and boots. Horny Toad's Oolong dress fit my requirements perfectly--just short enough to make boots look great and not too tight around the middle to be a problem with tights. Gorgeous color, flattering fit and can be dressed up or down.

Oh no, don't go gray.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

I own a previous year version of this dress and adore it. I grabbed the gray, medium, thinking it would be the same. Oh no. It was not. The gray was actually quite lovely, but once I put the dress on, everything went wrong. The dress was massive (5'7", 130lb, 34B), and where the fabric touched my body, it made me look like a lumpy marshmallow. it was so unflattering and so disappointing.

i purchased this dress as a gift for my wife and here is what she has to say

This dress is very comfortable and a really soft material. I love the colors it comes in and it is nice to have a long sleeve dress for the winters. I am 5'8" and the dress might be a tad short for my taste, about 5 or so inches above the knee, but with boots and thick socks I am still plenty warm.

Holding up well

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Neckline was a little low on me so I added a scrap of fabric there for modesty sake. I could wear a camisole though, and get the same affect.

The dress is really versatile, goes from day to night really well with a quick change of accessories and survives a lot of hard use and rewearings. Unlike most knit dresses, this dress doesn't need to be washed and hung up to regain shape -- it holds its shape well over several days and comes out of the wash looking new.

The one problem I'm experiencing is that the dress does pill, but I live in a salty, humid climate that is very inclement towards all the fabrics I've tried so far. This dress is holding up with the best of them, to be honest.
